I'm so excited for this game and just buyed it. But I'm wondering how multiplayer going to work with GoG version. Is this game going to support GoG Galaxy? Or there will be a key for activate your account at another site?

Same for me! Very much looking forward to playing this game but before i buy i need to know if GoG edition and Steam edition are the same (same galaxy, same "online" gameplay)

Let's hope the developers have more information out before launch.
Same for me. I cannot wait to explore this universe and play this game finally for myself.
But there are so many questions unanswered right now...i don't want to buy it now at that price.

Things like:

- does the gog version also feature those online functions?
- when online is supported - will it be compatible with the steam version?
- is VR supported?
- is the fov adjustable? (it is too narow for my taste. and look at that video at around 2:25 - you just cannot see what happens around you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfpMRoZwzpk)
- can i ditch the preorder bonus ship and weapon? i want to start fresh without any boosts
- and so on

I have no problem paying 60 bucks, but there are just too many questions unanswered to justify a preorder at that price - for me at least.

Damn...waiting sucks..so hard.

- My guess is that it would since its an indie game, devs can probably explore these areas without worrying about budget cuts like EA would experience.
- Yes my personal take on it, all systems will get an identical release.
- No mention of VR, so probably a bad sign, maybe they will add it a patch? Who knows.
- Probably not on the PS4 version if I had to take a guess.
- Sure just crash your ship or get killed :P

Sean has told in a interview that they are very interested in VR and will look into it after launch. At this time, they are just to busy with getting the game ready for the launchdate and can't spare any time to implement VR into the game.
But it looks like they have the intention to at least TRY to get VR up and running for the game in some near future.
I am dying to play it too but I don't want to get caught out with a pre order. I've been bitten WAY too many times. I really need to see reviews, watch lets plays before.

I am just scared because
1. There is no much information out there
2. Everything we have seen so far for the last 3 years has been practically the same

Worried this will be Spore all over again. I really hope it won't be, I want it to be fantastic.

Found it extremely odd you can't upgrade/modify the ship you fly though, wouldn't that be the first thing you put in ?

You apparently can upgrade your ship so to speak, but it won't be visual from what I understand. Upgrades will probably apply to your ships stats, this information is available on the Hello Games website. They answer most these questions on a blog and majority of them have been answered.

Its probably better to get a console version of this game, if your looking for eye candy in a collectors edition. There is a boxed pc version of it but for reasons undisclosed, the digital download of NMS seems like the better deal out of the two. The boxed version contains a mystery prize which they will reveal only after the game goes live.

But the boxed version will be riddled with DRM so it's not an option. No way they will sell a DRM free version boxed. It would all be steam. As for console, no thanks. I'll stick with the laptop.

Doesn't mean it won't be there. It has to not only be mentioned but explicitly explained.
Unless I see it and have it confirmed like the devs making a statement "the boxed version will not have DRM you never have to connect to internet, just put in the DVD and install" then I can't take that chance.

I would say PC boxed version would be forced steam but we will see. I doubt it will hit the shelves no DRM.
I have zero interest in multiplayer but I don't begrudge those that want it, so long as I NEVER have to connect, so long as I can fork saves and "roll back time in the universe" by loading another game, I will have no issues. I hate anything with online MP that is forced.

SP offline for me forever.

Some folks are into collectors editions that's the only reason I recommended a boxed version.

As for DRM well that's a bit iffy no point in beating yourself trying to figure that out. I agree with the offline experience, that's the only reason I chose GOG for NMS. I bought Elite last year it was the worst thing I ever played, luckily Steam took it back good riddance.
If I remember correctly Sean in an interview once mentioned the multiplayer being cross-platform.. If by that he meant PS4 and PC, why would GOG be different from Steam? And if he meant the PC-Platforms (which is somewhat unlikely) that should settle your worries a bit I guess.. :) I will post a link to that interview if i find it again somewhere
I have never (trust me, that's a long time) purchased a game before it's been released. However, this game looks really unique and like something I've always wanted, so I bought it. Anytime a developer doesn't snub his nose at people who wish to run the games they purchase without the need for an intrusive (and required) client, I have to applaud them. This looks like an interesting and unique game. I decided it was worth supporting them thru GoG. I also bought Dying Light and a few other games.

I respect GoG so much so, I've been tempted to try the Galaxy client. :-)

It's amazing how people respond when you don't abuse them and treat them like criminals. The worst thing you can do to some people is tell them 'you have to'.

The worst case scenario is... the game isn't very good, they learn from the mistakes and make a new game that's released on GoG. :-) Heck, I bought TW3 and expansion pass and haven't played it yet, just to support this platform/developer.

Are we actually getting a boxed edition? I thought there are only a few options for NMS:
1.) PS4 regular
2.) PS4 Limited
3.) Steam (Regular)
4.) GoG (Regular)
5.) PC Collectors (Box with Steam code)
6.) PC Collectors (Box with GoG code)

As far as online, I recall an interview (need to find the link) that said there's no requirement to be online except if you want to share experiences.
Well, in a few months we will find out. The only gamble is do you get it before release to get the special GoG ship earlier or do you wait ?

If it is offline, the mods are bound to come out and because the special ship is in the game anyway so one day there might just be a mod to get it.

Also, unless it is embargoed, there should hopefully be a stack of videos and reviews BEFORE it comes out. If all reviews are embargoed until release date, that is indeed a scary sign.

Lets hope we get proper full game reviews at least 1-2 weeks before release date so we can judge if we want to pre order. We all want it to be amazing lets hope it is not a Spore repeat :)
