Very strange but sometimes the game won't run i.e. the 'Play' icon is grayed out, OR sometimes it won't run after an update OR the update won't install OR it won't sync. Usually when the above happens it says 'Disk not accessible'.

The only cure I've found is to uninstall the game except saves etc., and then reinstall it to another drive - I've got a choice of C:, D:, or E:, so I'm lucky.

Once it runs ok I then delete the original installation folder.

All this dance was not necessary maybe, it was your broken shortcut to the game pointing to another / non-existing folder.

I have also had the same problem recently (1.77). The launcher program disappears and usually reinstall only involves load a few megs od program. The other night this didn't work due as it couldn't acces the disc drive (SSD). This required an uninstall and reinstall. Today the launcher exe has again disappeared. At least only the launcher required this time with not access error.

Not a solution but joining in the annoyance of this and quite some time after the original post.

Did you change anything on your system recently? I've found that disappearing programs could be the result of an over active virus scanner. Check to see if it's somehow quarantined your launcher. If so, then you just need to create a rule to allow that program access (or whitelist it) and you may be good.

Just a suggestion of something to try...

Looks like you were correct as I found it in the virus chest. Thanks for the suggestion. Let's hope that's the solution. As I said thanks again.
