Hello,

Quest: Expedition Two: Beachhead cannot be completed. I played all the stages and also collected all the rewards. Also, I received a message that my save game will be converted to a normal save game. Please have a look at my screenshot. Unfortunately, the quest does not end.

I have also tried to get help in a German forum, but unfortunately that didn't help:

I think you're good.

It's confusing, but that "save will convert" won't occur until AFTER the expedition closes after the two-week period.

It will look like you see it until then.

I'm 99% sure that you're okay.

If I recall correctly, that box is not checked because that Expedition save has not converted to a Normal save -- and that doesn't happen until the end of the expedition period. Once the two weeks (?) have ended then that save will convert.

In the meanwhile, you should be able to collect the rewards on your other saves from the Quicksilver guy in the Anomaly.

Then I will wait. I have received all the rewards. But I couldn't pick up the new ship with my normal save game. But maybe that will be the case at the end of the expedition.

Now that part I don't know.

I believe you should be able to get them now.

I've already done so on my oldest save (a "Normal" game I haven't played since April this year) - claiming both the Normandy and the Golden Vector..

Just to be sure - there are TWO menu choices at the QS merchant. The one for "Claim expedition rewards" is the one that should have it (the Normandy). Normally I see it is menu option #2.

If it isn't that then I don't know...

Yup, there are two menu options at the QS merchant. I already know that. What I have seen is that the golden ship (Golden Vector?) is available from this merchant. However, this is from the 1st expedition, I think.

I did not find the new ship (Hadach's Discovery KH3) at the QS merchant. I think it was in my freighter's hangar after unlocking.

Anyway, the expedition goes only a few days, then I know more :)

That's a B class ship. It's nothing special, you can buy or claim better ships pretty much anywhere. It would just be pointless clutter if it was available at the QS merchant.

The real reward is the Normandy, which is a frigate. It has great stats and is indestructible. You should be able to buy that from the QS merchant on any save.

Hadach's Discovery KH3 does not carry over to main game. It's only in the expedition.

your lucky i'm stuck trying to find 4 undiscovered systems , i've kinda given up and started building another base

i realised i've been playing it all wrong (i'e playing it to mine instead of the story , that 'll teach me to read ahead of what's going on
maybe i should have kept offline and then everyone else wouldn't have found those systems first ?

It was my first expedition. I had no problems finding undiscovered systems. I had started quite early with the expedition and play (almost) only for myself and without multiplayer. Maybe someone who has more experience than me can answer your question(?)

If I'm not mistaken, the 3rd expedition starts tomorrow. I hope you have less problems and more fun there.

I generally play online but with multiplayer turned off (Options | Networking | Multiplayer = disabled) and things like PVP and base editing set to none. That ties me into the discovery services so that my discoveries get uploaded to the Atlas ... er to HG ... and I see other player's discoveries.

The starting regions will always be heavily visited, with most systems already discovered. That applies to the Expedition saves but also to any new save. The default spawn region is a ring with a radius of about 720 KLY and a lot of systems will have already been visited.

Even worse in an Expedition, where everybodty starts on the same planet. The trick is to head off in a direction that's not directly towards or away from the galactic center and not directly up or down in the galactic plane. Two screen widths to the right and one down, or something like that. Head out that way and you'll be in undiscovered space pretty quickly.
