Does anyone else thinks that while it is a great concept (I love how it works in Astroneer) the execution is just terrible?
All this generators and lying down the wires is a nightmare.

I tried to power up one of my old bases and nothing works.
I set up a generator and some solar panels wired it up to the building and nothing. Yes, I did put fuel in the generator. I'm in creative mode so I don't need to refuel it all the time but nothing works.
Do I really need to wire up every single piece of my base?
I thought it was just enough to plug it in into the building??

If they make wanna make "Wireless" connections for power, then I'll keep playing - otherwise, I'm gonna go to England and kick the shit outta some really STUPID designers!!!

It appears that only the even numbered storage units for planet bases can be powered, all the odd number units remain offline even though they are all wired in series. I have yet to place any on the ship.


And yes they absolutely need to make wireless power for all the snap placed items

I discovered there is wireless power for bases, BUT you can't place the power unit in one of the snap points inside the base. you have to place the power unit outside and attach it to one of the power ports on the outside of the structures, then it will power anything that is attached to the snap points as well as any lights that are part of the structure modules. Note: this is for the more advanced modular structures not the basic wood, steel, or concrete.
So at least once you get a bit into the game you won't need the wires all over your base.

It doesn't really matter in Creation Mode as everything is free and most of the stuff is available right from the start.
I really like those old basic building blocks so my first experience was to power up EVERYTHING!
I gave up after wiring a couple of rooms with all the lights and so on and just built a new, more advanced base.

I still have problems with some of the switches and doors though, but I'll work it out.
