Fortunately that one is optional but I agree it's annoying to leave it hanging.

We ought to coordinate a GOG meet up somewhere, so we can all get that bit done. Off the top of my head, I'd suggest a system that's near one of the rendezvous systems but not on the direct path. Perhaps make groups in the space station to avoid dragging in the Anomaly and the potential drama.

Can more than one group have a freighter in-system? How does the "host" get their credit? BTSOOM. Things to figure out.

There were two updates to 3xperimental that came out today. One of the fixes included in these was:

Fixed an issue that prevented players from building inside another player’s freighter base, even with the correct
multiplayer permissions.

No idea how well that is actually working since GOG users are no longer worthy of participation in 3xperimental. It may take a while before this is released to main as there seems to be an effort on Hello Games' part to reduce the number of patches issued.

Yesterday I was on a space station along the expedition route while my freighter was in another system. I noticed on one of the upper levels there was another player so I approached them and asked to join a group. They said yes. (Perhaps my problem is I don't have something enabled? There was a little speaker symbol flashing next to my character icon but the other person had a static keyboard showing. I couldn't hear them speaking or anything.) We just stood there together for a little bit then the other guy went and hopped into his ship and I followed him. As soon as I left the space station I found myself landing on the other person's freighter. Got out and immediately achieved the reward result. So I hopped back in my ship and flew out and landed on my freighter (my memory is I called that before I left the other guys freighter but I may be wrong). The other guy followed me and landed on my freighter. He achieved the result for himself. We both jumped up and down excitedly a few times then parted ways. 5million units and a full set of portal glyphs - Woohoo!
