Gothfather: there are numerous bad reviews for this game
Just because you have an opinion that doesn't make it fact.
Regals: can't even read what you type can you child? Just because you have an opinion that doesn't make it fact.
You think your opinions are facts. I think my opinions are supported by facts. There is a non subtle difference. Adults understand the difference children don't. And you still don't understand what facts are ergo...

Regals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArNz8U7tgU4 Just because you have an opinion that doesn't make it fact.
"No man's sky is bad." - statement taken from a youtube video. This is an opinion therefore can't be a fact.
Someone on youtube feels "No man's sky is bad" - This is not an opinion this is making a statement that someone holds an opinion it can be a fact. If someone holds said opinion then the fact is not the opinion they have but the fact that they stated said opinion.
It is fact that no man's sky is getting thousands of bad reviews on Steam, youtube and gog. That is fact and is verifiable. The opinions in said bad reviews are not fact as reviews are subjective. This is a NON subtle difference.
BVS has a low rotten tomatoes score - That is FACT.
BVS is a bad movie . That isn't fact that is opinion.
Now the bad rotten tomatoes score for BVS movie is based on a set of opinions but it is still FACTUAL to state it has a low score.
It is factual to state NMS is getting bad reviews and to state that systems with very high powered hardware had difficulties running the game. These again are facts you can see the numerour bad reviews on yourtube, steam and gog. yes the reviews are just opinion and therefore they are not fact but it is a fact that they exist.
Only intellectual midgets think you can't make factual statements about opinion just because opinions are not facts. What a moron you are.

I would just like to add my response to the litany of complaints here, about the refund policy and GOG's response.
This is the quoted verbatim from GOG in the email response I received regarding my request for a refund on the prepurchase of NMS:
Hello,
We're sorry if you're having an unsatisfactory gaming experience with No Man's Sky. Please note that we cannot immediately offer a cash refund if a game has been downloaded, unless it suffers from game-breaking technical issues that we cannot resolve though troubleshooting.
Please note that a patch for the game has been released recently, and I would strongly suggest making sure the game is updated to the latest version, to see if the problems persist.
We want to give the game's developer some time to address user feedback in upcoming updates, and we would appreciate your patience, if possible. We believe two weeks' time would be fair, and if you're still experiencing problems playing the game, we will of course offer you a cash refund. If you do not wish to wait, we can exchange your game to store credit, which you could use towards any future purchase on GOG, for up to a year.
Problem a) a two week 'waiting' period would take me past the 30 day refund window, since I had pre-ordered it. If they can guarantee I will get a full refund even if my request is made after waiting the two weeks... at their request, no less, even though I am making the refund request now while I am still within that 30 day refund period... that's fine. I am not based in the EU, but I thought consumer protections were quite strong? Am I mistaken, or...?
Problem b) I do not understand why there is a need to wait two weeks? They are saying it is to give the developer time to patch the game up -- I stated that I had patched the game up to the latest version and that I was still, overall, dissatisfied with the experience. I really do not understand the policy in place here.
In any case, I will wait the two weeks as per GOG's request -- however, I fully expect that when I send another request for the full refund after that 'probationary' period, that I will get the full remittance amount back.
This seems a little unreasonable, honestly, but I am willing to abide by their request and make it again in two weeks -- so long as my rights as a consumer also get protected.

From my perspective, this game is not what it should be, the are things that should be there which aren't and indeed I tried to go back one system - and guess what no where to be found.
Until this game has enough documentation and the features that are required for it to be good take my advice - DON'T BUY IT. It works on my system no problems but basic things are missing.
The ability to view buildings, monuments etc on a map when you have found them so you don't aimlessly go back and forth between the same places over and over.
The ability to navigate the Star map and go back and forth between systems EASILY!.
The ability to navigate the Star map without using the Starmap by selecting a place to jump to via the discoveries screen.
Until these simple simple things are fixed I recommend you simply stay away, yes it's pretty, yes it's got some nice ideas and I understand it's only four people involved in writing it but still the three things above are what would be BASIC features in a space sim.
Nuff said.

From what I understand, refunds on pre-orders start from when the game is released, not when you pre-ordered. This is the quoted verbatim from GOG in the email response I received regarding my request for a refund on the prepurchase of NMS:

So, you have 30 days from Aug 12th, not from the date you pre-ordered, at least if I understand it correctly.
And yes, the reason is to give the developer time to address your concerns, or so I would think. That way, if you have something (for example, I don't know how GOG is handling Intel integrated, but lets say one had that it it counted for a refund, HG have said they are working on getting it to work in Intel Integrated (we'll see), if they get it working...that's something now fixed) that makes it so it doesn't work, and then it gets fixed in a patch, you then could play the game that you payed for.
Hence, the reason for the refund (game not working) is no longer an issue. Hopefully they get more of the technical issues taken care of (I haven't run the latest build, afraid it might erase my game, but about to try it anyways and see what happens), and then move onto adding items that people were disappointed were not in the game, without charging for it as paid DLC.

That is actually the BIGGEST thing that I want added to the game. A far more useable mapping system. My #1 item that I think the game needs! It's an additional item though, so I hope they help those needing technical problem fixes first.Until this game has enough documentation and the features that are required for it to be good take my advice - DON'T BUY IT. How do you even do refunds with GoG? I don't think the game not working is an issue because it's simply not the game that was advertised.
