*If this file exists, no mod banks will be loaded.*

If you are modding the game, please don't modify any of the bank files in the folder this file lives in (PCBANKS). These are the banks No Man's Sky ships with, and modifying them makes it impossible for the game to detect if you have a corrupted installation.

Any mod banks should go into a subfolder of PCBANKS, called MODS. All banks in MODS will be mounted when the game starts up.

Banks in the MODS folder are loaded additively, over the top of the banks shipped in No Man's Sky, and given priority over the shipping files. This allows a mod bank to replace any files in the shipping game, or add new ones.

Now the one mod I used doesn't work, it was the low flight mod (By HyTec). It made the game for me...I create a new file named MODS, put the mod in it and restarted, ....nothing.
So,...what am I doing wrong????
Help

Rename the file DISABLEMODS.TXT to different name or delete it.
Then create a folder called MODS in your PCBANKS folder.
Move all your mods into the GAMEDATA\PCBANKS\MODS folder
Restart the game - you will get a message telling you the game is modded.
Just agree and all will work as before.

Thank you so very much...I been sitting hoping someone would answer< I will do so right away, and Thank You, again.

Well, I guess that's that,...the mod no longer works and Hello games flagged a warning that they don't approve...So I'm back to flying a mile high in the sky with the option of forward, left or right, with no chance of hitting target flags, time for other games

I understand that there is a way to still use "some" mods now with a little more work then before, but correct me if I am wrong and was it not the mods that were keeping the game alive more then anything from HelloGames since the games start and their silence ?

So in their infinite wisdom they more or less shoot the mod community that has kept hope alive in the foot......

And again I do understand some of the mods still work, but plenty of the ones that kept people interested do not.

Exactly!
this may seem like a silly question...but when was the last time you updated the mod?

there are posts from today (12/8) saying its working.

The Low Flight mod by Hytec works. I am using version 3.1 which is compatible with the Foundation v1.12 update. My ship will go down to a speed of 4 & I can fly under arches etc. Download the latest update (v3.1) to the mod from here:

https://nomansskymods.com/mods/lowflight-by-hytek-packed/

The installation instructions on the low flight mod page are out of date.

I am using the GOG non-Galaxy version.

I renamed DISABLEMODS.TXT to _DISABLEMODS.TXT so I still could read the instructions contained therein. Make sure that you have no MODS in the PCBANKS folder. All mods MUST be in the MODS folder.

If you read the DISABLEMODS.TXT file you will see that HelloGames is not stopping anyone modding the game or running a mod. It appears that they are trying to make their own bug finding easier by isolating non original content to a subfolder. Kinda makes sense to me.

Dear RufusGartz, Thank you for your reply,...no go, but, after what you wrote I checked...I have a GOG version,...perhaps this is why I can't use the Mod....I don't know,...what a waste....

I am using the same version you are = GOG version on a PC.

There is also another mod you can try:

https://nomansskymods.com/mods/reverse-flight/

Option 2 of the mod says:
2. _MOD.ground.level.very.slow.flight.pak
For those who do not want to fly backward but want to fly very slowly over the planet's surface.
The spaceship can now be throttled down to 15u and you can fly closer to the planet's surface.

I had problems with v1.1 as I initially installed v1.1 over the top of v1.09.1 & tried to run it but it would not run. I backed up my savegame first. Then I uninstalled NMS and removed all traces of NMS from the PC. This included a) the GOG Games - NMS directory, b) the savegame directory c) running regedit and removing all entries to HelloGames that I could find in the registry. Then I restarted the PC just in case something was loaded in memory. After all that I installed v1.1 again & the game ran. Since then I have had no problems and even after upgrading to v1.12 I can still run MODS. I started a new game in normal mode & saved. I exited the game and then copied my old savegame back so got all my stuff back.

Maybe you might need to uninstall NMS (completely) and then reinstall NMS. It worked for me.

Ok, then that's what I'll do, thanks again
I'll be back in about 20 minutes and let you know how it went.

No Luck here...I am so depressed....
It's ok, maybe I'm just stupid...I have followed every command, even deleting text file, doen't make a difference...I stuck high in the sky...uselessly...maybe someday it will become a patch...I won't hold my breathe, Thank you for taking the time to help
