Oh, that's sad, then. Well, let's wait for the error to be corrected then.
Same issue here too, no way to start new expedition and matchmaking greyed out. its NOT my network or computer as my PS5 and PS4 can both play it fine and I even with a fully disabled firewall it doesn't work.

This is 100% confirmed GOG only issue.
Game updated to ver. 3.91 but I have not been able to get Online Discovery Services connected since yesterday. I heard there was a general issue yesterday but I guess this is an issue for GOG now.

I'm also using Galaxy. I'll send a ticket to Hello Games and see if they reply
I just updated to the latest 3.91 (now that the manual installers are finally available), and I'm also having the no-connection issue.

I don't know if it's "100% confirmed GOG only issue" or not (personally, I don't just buy that as a blanket assertion - but no matter).

It appears if you can't get that connection you cannot start the new Expedition.

So now I get to be in the same boat as the Galaxy-updated players.

Hopefully it will be corrected soon. We're already 1 week in Expedition 7, and it is a timed expedition.

(Meanwhile, I've confirmed my other most-recent "save" does appear to work).

Martek: No mention if using GOG Galaxy or not.

I've noticed that when I play NMS without using Galaxy, I get that message probably 100% of the time (with approximately 2,000 hours of NMS play-time, I don't pay it much attention anymore so I'm not sure it's 100%, but IIRC, it is).

When I do use Galaxy, I only occasionally get that message (so then I've assumed it's an occasional glitch or something).

Mentioning that, just in case...
You need GOG Galaxy to play online NMS

Yes, you are correct.

I noted the same just 16-hours earlier in this same thread (above).
Same issue here. :( Happened since the last update (Galaxy client user, here). Funny thing is, I did not even notice the connection was offline until the moment I decided to fly to the Space Anomaly to purchase some upgrades and noticed that it was completely vacant. Not a single fellow traveler in sight! That's when I realized something was wrong and came here to check if it was a global issue. :( I really hope it gets fixed soon.

What is weird is that my current Expedition save file is not connecting to the Discovery services but If I try to start a new game, I can start a new Expedition with no problem.

I don't know what is causing this difference only for me since I've seen others without Discovery services not able to start a new expedition either.

Today, I received an update for Galaxy for version 2.0.51. After doing the update, NMS was connected to Online Discovery Service.

I'm not sure if this was related (since the changelog never mentioned anything about connectivity or NMS) but I wanted to share so others can confirm if this fixed the issue for them.

Confirmed it's working at the moment!

Note: I updated to that new Galaxy earlier this morning, and it still wasn't working. I don't think that did it, but is coincidentally around the time "they" got it fixed.

About two hours ago, I had opened a ticket with Hello Games on this issue. Don't know if that did it either.

Also, there is a fairly recent forum thread on Steam about this GOG issue (in which other Steam players also said it was still broke for them - hence fortifying my earlier-posted thought that is wasn't necessarily a "GOG's-responsibility issue" - despite some posts proclaiming that it was "100%" GOG's issue).

Maybe a combination of these things got someone's attention (finally).

In any case:

HOORAY - can finally start the Exp7 (a bit later; no time atm - hope it stays "fixed").
After the GOG Galaxy update I did not have a connection to the Online Discovery Service, so it wasn't that.

But yes, I also have connection again now.
I'm marking the first person to said 'don't panic and wait it out' as the right answer^^
yeah, confirmed its working with update

Nice, thanks for confirming. Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was the Galaxy update or just something on HG's ends but it is nice to see they were able to fix it now.

I can also finish Expedition 7 too :)
