I just launched NMS to check. No problems here. Generally when a game uninstalls like that, it's due to an overly sensitive virus scanner on your computer. Go into your virus protection software and add NMS.exe to the whitelist of programs. That should solve the problem.

I figured out what was happening. I had it installed on an external drive and it had died. :/

You were loading and playing the game through a slow USB connector?

You would be better clearing up some space on your fast internal drive.
