My freighter is killing me. Like this:

I'm using a fleet command console (a specific one). Next thing I know is I'm standing on top of my freighter on see-through ceilings. Sometimes I can get back inside, sometimes I fall off while trying. When lucky, I fall into the right spot, and get beamed back into the freighter again. Sometimes I'm not so lucky.

The same can happen to me when dealing with the container consoles.

Sometimes I even get teleported outside in what looks like a random fashion, just when walking through empty floors.

Sometimes there are invisible barriers on the floor I can jet-pack over. Nothing bad had happend by this so far, but it's weird, too.

.. .. ..

Is my freighter bugged? Is it time to save up for a new one? Or are there more conservative strategies?

Same here. Check the Frigate invisible interior walls thread on this forum

My current 'strategy' is to hit the Save Point in my freighter frequently.

I haven't gotten to the point of a freighter yet, (didn't know they exists to be honest. Just completed my first warp jump!).

I have been doing a lot of tunnelling, to get resources and not get fried by radiation/heat or attacked by sentinels/ animals, and have suddenly found myself in the open air.

Must be a persistent bug.

Thanks for this post, I'll bear it in mind.

I would stay away from it if playing in permadeath mode. I came by it by chance, and thought it was a bug -- far too easy. Maybe it came with a DLC, such that contemporary players would have been saviours of the universe already (if that's the course of the game). To a new player like myself it feels like a cheat mod, really. ^^

An update: I still get thrown out for no reason.

But never at the Fleet Control Console if I activate it while standing in the corner to the right of the console, behind the desktop.

Of course I can't be sure, but the other day I activated it, like, normally, and *wham* found myself outside. Reload, activate from the front, *wham*, reload, activate from the front, *wham*. Reload, activate from the corner, and all is well. Isn't that funny.

Oh, under pain of *wham*, don't jetpack into the corner - - -

@ksj8ak2: Were you talking to me the other night, in the Anomaly? I'm sorry, I didn't catch that - we had already lift off for an epic mission - but there was some "freighter" in it. :-)

Only reliable solution is to summon the freighter at a new location in space. Reloading will not help most of the time. Same with clipping errors (invisible obstacles).

So, what you must do is: reload save, take-off, summon freighter, land again... :(
