adam_lang: I think we can safely assume that GoG will not be getting the Mac version. If they were going to, then they would be saying 'be patient, we are working on it' or indeed would have said SOMETHING.

I also think we can assume that neither GoG nor the publisher will ever comment on the situation. So basically, I would say that if you want the Mac version of NMS, you should probably go buy it on the Mac App Store. (I would recommend Steam except that I loathe Steam with every fiber of my being so.)
Thanks Adam.

I already duckduckgo'ed for "transfer nms save from gog to steam" and it seems to work. Now there are some advantages and disadvantages each for GOG, Apple App Store and Steam, respectively.

I am seriously tempted to move my old 50h+save file to steam, as I plan to abandon Mac and PS5 for gaming in the next years (and build a PC gaming box). On the long term, that is a strong plus for GOG and Steam vs. Apple App store.
Gwent, Metro Exodus, No Man's Sky... the list goes on. Kudos to Larian Studios for offering macOS versions of their best selling titles here on GOG. And for keeping them up to date.
Still waiting for the macOS version to be released on GOG _(:з」∠)_
makes me regret buying NMS on Gog, if I had bought it on steam, I'd have both the pc and mac version.
