xeniac: Right, this game has an in-game goodie for preorders on gog.com. Because of this reason i wanted to start a thread on gog.com.
As you should know: preorders are bad. The gog.com staff curates the games, so you are very unlikely to preorder an "Alien Isolation" here. But form times to times you won't get the game delivered that you have been dreaming of, even on gog.com. Take Trine 3 for example: a nice game, way to short, controls aren't that great. Many people preordered it here, because Trine 1 & 2 where fabulous, so part 3 must be great to. A few days after the release many people where disappointed.
You know what's also bad? In-game exclusives for Platform "X", the special edition, an mostly pre-orders.
Play Soul-Calibur with Link? Only on Nintendo. Want't to fight with Darth Vader? Only on Playstation. Play the new Warhammer 4k with Space Marines? Only with the Special Edition that includes all DLC.
You want to have a good ship to survive in space instead of an rusty tin? Only if you pre order the game that haven't received a full review by anyone.
What's the difference between this pre-order bonus and the pay2win stuff EA does? As you know mostly anything in this pay2win games can also be archived without paying, it's just very unlikely you will get it.
IMHO this kind of pre-order goodies are bad and i would be glad if gog.com would keep up their distance from offers of this kind.
Actually GoG doesn't have any pre-order goodies specific to them. The ship and hyperdrive are available on the Windows PC version regardless if you get it on Steam or GoG.
I guess I should also have clarified that what I was looking for as far as GoG bonuses for pre-ordering were:
1.) Was $60 a GoG only rate or was this also the same price as other retailer? (checked on Steam and google and seems to validate it's $60 USD everywhere, so no discount).
2.) Any pre-order bonuses? From what I've seem, all retailers have the same bonus for pre-ordering: The Omega ship and Hyperdrive.
3.) Any add-ons similar to other GoG games (i.e. manuals, OSTs, etc.). The page doesn't list anything yet so I have to assume none.
