ok...if youre like me...youre pretty tired of waiting for this game to get fixed.

well i just managed to play for an hour with no "problems" (ill get to the quotes in a bit). now im sure im going to make some people mad with this...but i dont really care.

like many of you...the game wouldnt start for me. i have an phenom ii x6 1090t...so...game was broken.

all you need to do is go to tpb and dl the freaking patch. its there and it works. its just a matter of dropping some files into some folders...easy peasy.

its a freaking disgrace that thats what were forced to do to get this game working nearly a week after release.

now on to those quotes....

this game is a ridiculous horrible lazy ps port. the controls are garbage and the ui is made for idiots. im pretty pissed i wasted money on this. if i wanted to play this on a playstation...i would have got it for the playstation.

i spent more time trying to navigate the absurd ui than i did exploring the planet.

whatever.

the main thing is you dont have to wait for gog to get their thumb out of their ass to play it. take matters into your own hands...be proactive and go get the patch yourself.

now all i have to do is spend a couple of hours modding it so it doesnt look like my cat vomited all over my monitor.

seriously...what the hell are they doing over there? this looks like crap...and it doesnt have to.

Thank you. SHAMEFUL HELLO GAMES and GOG Support. Really SHAMEFUL
I can confirm this, it really works. Geez, it really feels like good old games - you have to crack them to make them work...
Most mods don't work with experimental branch btw.
worked great, thank you
Are your saves working?
That patch doesn't seem to work for me - when I try to launch the game, it throws an error based on dependencies on some Steam .dlls. How did you make it work?
Also, which patch - the 17mb one, the 34mb one, or the 900-some mb one?

works for me

AMD athlon ii 630 quad (2.8ghz)
8gigs ram
radeon HD 6950 2gig (200mhz below minimum AMD gpu)
win 10

Everything set to low, fullscreen at 1080, and its smooth. I'm going to see how far I can push it.

use the 900mb version and apply the "crk" (copy and paste the folder)

WARNING!!

Everyone who goes this route, your saves probably won't work once GoG releases an equivalent patch. So that means you'll have to start over.

For me, I'm just happy I can finally play

Yeah, I get that (I actually play as someone named Ali213 - I guess that's the guy who cracked the thing). Since this is all procedurally generated, I don't think that a new start will bother me deeply.
I used the 900mb file and just copied all the stuff in the folders (had to rewrite one file because otherwise it would be in chinese, just simple adjustments).
And yeah, my processor is AMD Phenom II X4 955 and it all works just fine.

that may be 100% true...i dont know.

i will tell you i was able to change my in game name to my own name by altering the ali213.ini file located in the binaries folder.

i changed the name and also added my own steam id number.

my in game name was changed and a new folder for that name was created in the profile folder.

now i havent tried altering the name of the ali213.ini file to my own yet, but that will be next.

maybe all this is pointless and we will never be able to use these saves once gog get on the ball and patches the game properly.

on the other hand...the new folder with the correct name that appears in the profile folder is promising. we will just have to wait and see.

for what its worth i dont much care...i just want to play the game, which ive been doing now for a 2-3 hours with zero problems.

the saves are working just fine...even after i changed the name and steam id...the old save loaded up with the new name...no problem.

oh...and do yourself a favor and get a reshade.
