Did you? I mean one of those systems shown in the advertisement videos before the game was released, maybe the one with the big 'Diplodocus' dinosaur that you can see on video nr.2 on the Steam Store page of NMS ? I wonder if these systems / planets really exist in the game.
Note that I don't want specific spoilers for locations etc., I only like to know if they exist or not.

Thanks,

Sadly no, not to my knowledge. If such a world did exist I am sure HelloGames would have posted the location for one of the many programs used to jump/teleport star systems. If one did exist I too would very much like to see it.

I have not been back to these forums for quite a while, came here in hopes to see a new patch or more content (Maybe some of the stuff that was shown in trailers) but sadly not.

More then not it seems the trailer for No Man's Sky was made to set the hooks in peoples mouths and had little to do with reality.

Hi Elghinnfaer,
welcome back to the forum, any entries here are welcome to contrast the NMS forum on Steam which is full of trolls at the moment who are ranting that the game is still alive...
I think NMS is not in the best state currently, but the Foundation Update has added a lot of things and I'm having fun with it.
From the time I posted the above, I have gathered some infos and it appears that just before the first release, the developpers have changed the procedural generation of environments and taken out features that (that's my guess) didn't work as intended, but they didn't change the trailers to adapt to the actual release, an error that have turned some players to be very angry... Also I now understand that these trailers you see on Steam (or on Youtube older than 1 year) are test builds used by Sean to present the game, but they didn't make it in-game because of the changes. I think dinosaurs (and other creatures) cannot be larger than 6-7 meters, because the game would have seious animation problems with bigger creatures, just an idea...

Cheers,
XenonS
I think you are more correct then not, the game was dumbed down for console users, not something unusual that happens to games that are ported to a PC. Sadly in this case the game had MUCH more potential but (and this is just my opinion, and that of many others) that due to limitations in the PlayStation compared to the PC the game was not allowed to reach it's potential.

Sean Murray and HelloGames could have been one of the biggest names in gaming if they had not sold their soul to Sony. Easy to say from my comfortable chair, but I think I would have preferred to have made less money but had a outstanding reputation then the short term goal of cash. But then again that is probably why I fall into the poor-average income category.

I still hope that No Man's Sky can show more of it's potential then it has but I fear the creeps at Sony would NEVER want their precious game consoles overshadowed by the PC.
Its not possible to find those systems I believe. Its been established that some of their gameplays have been scripted so that they had full control o how the game will look like to public and so that they dont show stuff they dont want to talk about or stuff that doesnt look all that appealing.

Even if those worlds were not scripted the game went through some changes since release and hand in hand with those changes were also changes to how the worlds looked like and what type of flora fauna etc was on them.

I found a large critter on the second or third planet I visited. If I had to guess, I'd say it was around 10 meters tall. A lot taller than my character, in any case. Don't remember the name of the planet but it was mostly covered with water and had a lot of gold on it, IIRC.
