I count eight bases on Gogus Prime and one outpost on Portokali now. That's great after only two weeks. I'm starting to lose track :))

Apropos track - I'd love to have Racingstracks on the planet. I never built one myself but will try these days. Has anyone of you built one before?

Racing track could be nice but we should make it on a dead planet. Should be more fun with low gravity and less stuff in the way.

More tracks on different planets -> more variety -> more fun ! :)

More crashes and bugs.
New patch is very good for us. It will fix some of the issues with bases.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/0/1631916406853462920/

Fixed a significant number of crashes and functionality issues with fleets and freighters in multiplayer.
Fixed an issue that caused friend's bases to be named incorrectly.
Increased the local area complexity limit, to allow more objects to be placed in a small area.
Optimized a number of base parts that used up a large proportion of the local complexity limit.
Fixed a number of collision issues with base parts.
The Short-Range Teleporter now correctly uses Teleport Cables rather than standard electrical wiring to determine network connectivity.

More good stuff on the patch.

I can finally use my Carbon Planters.

- Correctly enabled power on Carbon Planters, allowing their plants to grow

Jt created a racetrack on Prime near his base. Use a Roamer, or you'll be sorry. He has Exobays ready for calling in yours, if you don't have any Exobays yet on Prime.

For reference, my first and only run clocked in at at around 171 seconds with an unmodified Roamer.

And since for now I'm the only one having tried the track, I HOLD THE TRACK RECORD ! <InsertEvilLaughterHere>

Edit: On 2nd thought, I should have tried the Colossus. Could have easily trippled the score. No. Wait. Wrong game.

@ksj8ak2 - All I see on your base.

There now a very cool underwater base on Gogus prime. Check it out.

Heh. Persistence in NMS is a thing, and it would be great, if HG could finally bring themselves to explan the mechanics of how the game decides to either use the version of other players bases stored in your save game or the one stored on the servers -- and then maybe admit to and explain current bugs / shortcomings or performance issues in these mechanics.

There's a few rules, which can be deducted from the behaviour I observe, but getting something from the horses mouth about that would definitly reduce confusion / frustration in the player base.

But then, having a Portal Research site behave odd kind of fits the picture, doesn't it ?
Slowly spiralling inwards.
What will I see, I wonder, when I finally arrive, should I arrive. How will I be welcomed. Will there still be room for a tired Traveller?
Room for a nice wooden shack? For a shack with a veranda, and a balcony, and some commodities in the basement, and a B-class Power hotspot in the vicinity, and not too harsh a climate (aching bones, you know), and not too attentive bots -- I'm ok with the occasional battlemech, when invited, but "Inescapable" sentinels would rend the varanda useless.
Will I finally find peace?

You'll see 5 planets, none of which is extreme or will have you chased by Sentinels. Two of the planets are allmost paradise apart from the ocassional heat storm, one is a dry desert and the other two are spectacularly dead with low-gravity, providing all the eerieness we came to love about this kind of planetary bodies.

On arrival, you'll quite possibly find yourself greeted by current inhabitants, which will likely drown you in gifts, offer shelter and will generally try to be responsive and helpful.

There's allmost endless space for any kind of base you'd like to create, lots of inspiration through other bases and last but not least travellers able to hand you plenty of the resources needed for whatever you're trying to build, in case you're hit by a temporary grind-aversion syndrome.

Friend an join any of us, if you'd like to have a glimpse :)

Oh, the good old-fashioned way to the core! This brings back memories...

.oO(I hope the communal showers will work when all these oldschool travelers arrive...)

Hey Johntodd, did you ever consider to integrate a spa in the town hall? ;-)

Oh, we'll get there. It takes about 25 systems per 100 KLY, alternating between warps and black holes.

It would be faster but I'm using a signal booster to record the coordinates for each of the black hole systems and their corresponsing exit points for the black hole database. And making occasional side trips, of course. ;-)
Did anyone try to make a new logo and brochure? If not I will give it another go.

Well, good thing that two of our mobile Portal Science pods just arrived at the [GOG-87] Aegionn Portal Research Site on Gogus Prime. Pictured while firing a nightly testing shot, with target visible in expanded containment.

I'm reasonably sure, that the crews will manage to create a black hole exit point by accident. I allready saw one of the Gek picking Korvax pockets, instead of monitoring their station.

But then, they allready managed to lock the systems during that testing shot, and froze the experiment in time m(

Wow. This looks awesome! Is it able to brew coffee, too?

Sorry, I'm not so good with that stuff. And if I do anyway the product is likely nonsense...
