Also the speculation. A change in the weather generating algorithm?
OMG, a 12 GB download. My poor, poor, slow internet. :-O
12Gb update download??? That's how big the from scratch clean install download is.
The 4.08 Expeditions 97029 to 4.10 Fractal 100408a update patch is 3.7Gb
What the heck is Galaxy doing to need to download the full stand alone installer, to simply update? Why isn't it just downloading the update patch?
I know Im late for this;

My Galaxy only downloaded the update itself, not the whole thing.

IDK what's going on.
I suspect the update was so big because the brand new 'Museum of Gogern Art' on GoG/83 Iraksh has been in it.

I took some pictures there today with my toy camera (see attachment).

New update inbound: 4.2 Interceptor. Some XBoxen seem to already have it. Not shown in the Steam or GOG databases, yet. Steam shows a new internal build (five hours old at the time of this post) so there may be some tweaks before it goes live for PC platforms.

its available meanwhile also on GOG
I'm happy to report that "Relicci", (where all the AI mines are), in GoG-57, is IN FACT a corrupted world.

Update: The interceptor ship available on this planet is pretty snazzy! (see screenshot)

I left a couple of save beacons at the Camp and also at teh Ship.

@Johntodd: The splinter you gave me developed into an interceptor quite like the one in your screenshot - charming.

By the way, in recent days I've dutyfully done my Nexus missions and almost never had to play alone and almost always had very nice crews - also charming! GOGers are a rare sight, though.

I've been back in NMS a few times in the last days. Phew, everything has changed quite a bit...

My backpack and other inventories are still in chaos. The fauna has changed again, hasn't it? I can't find some of the best fauna any more :(

And is it possible that some of the ships in the systems are new? I found this cool fighter in GoG-87. (See exalted picture attached: 'newstarship01' ... no, wait, I meant 'newstarship02'! :D ) Even in my colours!

Best regards

Seems they have introduced some new flora and fauna into the game.

This new Echoes update rocks too. Im loving the new MTs, etc. The expedition is a bit tedious but at least the rewards are great.

BTW there is a bug with the pH/blood task. Hardly anybody can complete it right now.

UPDATE: They patched it.
