Guardians of Galaxies :)

I think we should start in Euclid. But since Beyond you're able to travel back to other galaxies if you'd like to join this project.

I say lets just go with this system as main one and first planet as capital. We can find and add more cool systems in the future to the Civilization. So how are we naming this system and planets? Here is something I came up with.

Systems name [GOG-87] - Omning Lidkorjah (great friends in Gek, lol)

last two of first planet coordinates - 07FD:0083:07F3:0187

Gogus Prime (1st planet) - capital
Gogus Proxima (2nd planet) co-capital
Portokali - 3d- orange grass planet
Desertum - 4th
Vacua - 5th
Pustota - 6th

Maybe GOG can be: Great Overlords of Galaxy :o) - logo can be one of these pointy nose fighter ships with green planet as background.

What are your suggestions? I know my are silly.

If we want to go with non-Gek (some hate these little fokers) name we can name it something like [GOG-87] - Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, or whatever cool name you guys can come up with.

Regarding the naming: I'm ok with the suggestions of Faust_3D. Wouldn't put so much effort in names for myself. I think it's cool to have a '[GOG] Systemnamewhatever' so visitors are able to recognise that they are in the right place. Gogus Prime for the capital planet serves its purpose very well. The other planets... well, I can live with the original names, too.

Do we really need a name for the whole civilization separate from G.O.G.? Why not let it be a running gag that everyone tells a different meaning? Everyone could put a communication station up to the portal on Gogus Prime with his message 'Welcome to Guardians of Galaxies', 'Welcome to Giant Obstacles Grounds', 'Welcome to Galactic Order of Geniocracy', Welcome to Good old Gaia' etc.

If anyone ever asks we tell them that the first settlers lost the other letters in a black hole jump. And now there are different wings and everyone claims for himself to know the one and only meaning ;)

I like your idea about GOG. I setup a base there last night so now can teleport to the planet. I will rename the planets tonight. I think it's cool for them to have descriptive yet slightly cryptic names. I am also the kind of person who renames animals, plants and even rocks (sometimes lol).

As for new systems lets name them all following the same pattern if we want them to be part of tGOG civ and post portal coordinates in this forum. Systems name [GOG-##] - [name]

We should not over do it with com stations around the portal, since you can't place them now without a base. I also think we should encourage members not to build bases very close to one another and to the portal. This sill can cause issues for some users.

Uploaded all planet names today. I will now look for a nice spot to make a new base. Looking forward to see your bases and doing stuff together!
