Nothing is lost by your updating the Greeting Post since none of the other great systems is going away.

87 is King and we all love it. But when new settlers have to wait, like, 10 minutes as compared to 90 seconds for the game to load, that's bad. (We old settlers can put up with it, because we've our second home there, and we know what awaits.)

Back then we've said: We need an easy to reach system with cel. bodies of each of the 3 good types (ice, desert, temperate), none of them boring, all of them with manageable weather, and good-natured sentinels. With this in mind I've scouted, like, 7, 8 screenfuls of systems around GOG-87. GOG-87 has no twin, but we've found a handful of candidates that more-or-less fit the bill.
Rost (whom I've spoken to earlier this day) and I favour Dumas.

P.S. I hope to add all of the candidates to the wiki, come time (and Nob is troglodyting every one of them as we speak).

i slaped together a heasty unoriginal prefab of a foundation on the "main" system as some address it.
i do intend to build something ressembling a city or at least row of prefab housings.

i dont think it will be nearly as easy as it sounds in the description.
Regardless i do wish us all some intreaguing fun whilst we build these projects.

p.s.:
dose the 1'000unit rulle apply to even my own bases? Incase i do need more space to spread my idea i would violate it by slaping down another base computer?

two things you need to know about your PS.

first, there seems to be a limit of 3000 base parts for multiplayer. which means above that number, visitors other than you will experience problems and will see missing parts, lights not working, power offline, etc.

saving and reloading at your base seems to fix that by somehow "transporting" your base files from your save to the visitor's save, so they can see it exactly as you built it.

second, it is possible to build several base computers together, close in a circle, and build inwards, joining the bases in the middle.

i've done it myself with 4 base computers and was able to go WAY above that 3K base part limitation, without requiring my visitors to save and reload. however they do have to physically be near each computer at least once to allow their game to load each base.

edit: also that 1k unit rule is there so that players dont overlap their bases, and moreso that players that were there before and had build projetcs are not penalized because a newcomer settles too close and "steals" their space.

Thanks for the summary, aliarrr. I vote for 93, provided it doesn't end up so crowded that it makes it take a long time for people to load/save (as that both sucks to experience and sets the game in a poor light for new players). As long as new people have a way to get to the area of GOG space easily, they can setup camp where they personally enjoy. After all, it's easy enough to jump a few hundred LY even in the starter ship if need be.

Ps. I placed a small base to discover about 100 LY from 87 in a system that wasn't already explored. I may continue to do that sort of thing, just to give people things (and treasures?) to find out in the great beyond.

Take the time you need. We nearly didn't break anything since you left us unattended ;P

But don't forget - nobody can see your first three bases while you aren't online! That's an intolerable situation!

This are two different things.

1. Multiple bases on one planet: If you have more than one base on a planet it's possible that visitors can only see one of your bases if you aren't online. I can only see Ksj's spider at the moment for example. It's the last uploaded I think.

2. Base shown in anomaly: I still don't know. It's like your last built base is shown. But somehow it seems to be possible to change this by uploading an older base. But I believe it's not just uploading - but maybe also making changes to it?

Maybe someone else knows exactly? If not we should test this by giving feedback to one another when beeing in anomaly together.
