Awesome day at Hello Games, we're going to make some people very happy with a PC and PS4 patch that's in test right now :)

I see the experimental patch listed on the beta channel, but as other people have said, it looks like it is not downloading anything.
It did some update but still get the same crash at "Hello Games" logo.

AMD Phenom II.
As stated by B0SC0:

Quick update on the beta branch guys - Hello Games have access now and are currently working on the update, but it hasn't been deployed as of yet. We're working with them to have something ready by the end of the day today :).

Thanks for your patience, and once again, my apologies for the delay!
So as you can see, you can enable the beta branch, but the actual patch isn't available yet. Those still getting crashes... wait and try again after the patch is actually out.
I must say this is rather disappointing at this point.

BKGaming: NOTICE: THE PATCH APPEARS TO NOT ACTUALLY BE READY YET. THE DOWNLOAD SIZE SAYS 0.0 MB. NOT 100% SURE, TRYING TO CONFIRM!

I recommend waiting until we hear something official, and I recommend staying on the default branch. Will leave this up for those who want to try it though.

Go to No Man's Sky.

Click MORE -> Settings -> turn beta channels on -> click the channel drop down menu -> add private channel.

Password: 3xperimental

Give it a few seconds, and you should see the beta listed.

Patch seems really small, trying to confirm this is correct.
Seems the patch added the folder _redist which account for the mvc error some ppl were getting

Nah that should have been there, that was a Steam specific issue. GOG by default normally always includes this.
Steam has now gotten another Experimental update and we've still not seen the any updates.

No offense, but this does not feel like trying as hard as possible to resolve issues by GOG when you're not even partnered with the companies well enough to make sure they are equitably treating customers who've paid the same as your competition.

Seems this branch has now been removed from GOG (not that it ever had any functionality since it never had any update available).
Meanwhile the similar function on Steam has seen 2 updates now.

Really I'm still in the branch currently. Hasn't appeared to have kicked me out of it.

Switch to default and the branch will vanish.
I switched back and forth between them to keep checking if there was an update.

If that is the case, Galaxy should kick me out. I guess I'll have to report that. Now were going to end up with people on this branch who fail to change if they end up using a new branch (which I don't see why they would).

It's greyed out for me as well. It says that the channel is no longer available.

It has now had another Experimental Patch 5-6 hours ago and its huge. WTF why GOG nmot getting any. We need to get everyone tweeting him all at the same time lol or is it GOG? the platform just not as easy to update etc?
I'm one of the lucky ones been playing at 1440P and 4K over 80fps at 4K and 110-130fps at 1440p maxed settings on GTX1080 MSI Gaming X and a 5930K

Anyway check it out http://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/7/360672383121166985/

Here’s what’s different

UPDATE: AMD Phenom Support
Thousands of lines of assembly have been rewritten to support AMD CPUs. The game code no longer relies on anything above SSE 2,
Havok Physics has also now created new libs. Game is now confirmed working on Phenom CPUs.

UPDATE: Mouse Smoothing
Smoothing on mouse movement has been improved to prevent hitching or stuttering, and is now adjustable through the Options menu in “Mouse Smoothing”.
It now defaults to off. If you feel the framerate is "slow" or "lumpy", please make sure that this is turned off (it helps players with sub-30 fps)

UPDATE: Improved Performance
On CPUs with 4 threads or fewer, performance has been improved.
On CPUs with 8 threads, performance has also been significantly improved.

UPDATE: Radeon 6xxx
Added support for this GPU, which doesn't support OpenGL 4.5 fully.

UPDATE: Player Saves
Help to recover some player saves which had been lost or corrupt.

Alt-Tab has improved
Some systems/configs were crashing or not pausing correctly on Alt Tab. This should now be resolved.

Shader Caching
Framerate was initially stuttering due to shaders not being correctly cached by the GPU on some systems. We have replaced the GPU caching system. You may notice some stutter during the Galactic Map intro to the game (the very first time you run), but it should be smoother from then on (this will be fixed in future). This is particularly true on ATI cards

Max FPS Cap
On some CPU/GPU configurations, setting Max FPS to 60 or 30 was not giving 60 or 30 FPS (causing stuttering). This has been improved.

Intel GPU Detection
We do not currently support Intel GPUS. We are working on this for a future patch, to expand our min spec.
In the meantime, the game will now let you know if you are trying to run with an unsupported GPU. This will hopefully flag for some users that their high end GPU has not been selected.

Gsync
Gsync has been disabled by default, which was causing an issue for some users

Here is how you access it
To access the Experimental branch right-click on the game from the library page and select "Properties". Among the available tabs will be the "BETAS" tab.

Your new branch should be listed in the dropdown menu under "Select the beta you would like to opt into:"

Code: 3xperimental
If you encounter issues with this please mail support@hellogames.co.uk and include [EXPERIMENTAL] in the subject.

IF THIS BRANCH FIXES YOUR ISSUE, PLEASE LET US KNOW :)

Thank you,
Hello Games
Seriously..?
Feeling like a second class customer right now..
Guess it's back to the old way: buy old games on GoG, buy new ones on Steam or Retail because GoG can't compete with the big ones. Sad.
