Hi

Running NMS in 2D from GOG 2.06d and on WIN 10 GTX 1080Ti 16GB RAM 1440P setting Creative mode

Thats really satisfying now to play!!... I do have to READ stuff to work out how to build things etc....lol...

Just enjoyed working out how to set up the base power supply and grid and wiring things up.. went into first night and realised I also needed to hook up batteries to the Solar panels... Also that the doors on the base have two power connectors for the Doors to be powered up, otherwise they sit open...really Cool!!

Beyond has made the game alot more easier to work out and very satisfying to play and WORK at lol....

I wil have 2D and VR !! (steam currently as I bought it again there yesteray)

Very Happy here now....Laurie
It`s good. I just wish they wouldn`t FORCE us to build a house and all that stuff, if all we want to do is just explore planets. I`m not much of a house builder and I need to find a really nice planet before I even think of it. I can`t be the only one.

They should do it like Fallout4 where you can just igmore building completely until you`re ready.

Yeah same here. And the new wiring systems are annoying to me (plus all the wires everywhere look ugly lol) It's tedious enough to need to farm all the resources to build a basic building. The electrical system should just work in a radius without needing to wire everything up individually. I don't even wanna bother building a base now.

But thanks to HelloGames for trying to improve the game (for free no less) anyway :)
Did like it, don't like it anymore. Beyond rubs me up the wrong way.
Good grief grumpy replies... I really like Beyond wires and all....imo...Laurie

Oh, sorry, I didn`t realise you just wanted complete and absolute, psychophantic bow-down praise.

You`ll have to employ your own brainwashed yes men for that.

You are not the only one. I don't care for base building either. I haven't found a nice, lush, temperate planet yet... sentinel-free would be great too. I put my starter base on some rocky planet that freezes hard come nighttime. It was the best choice of the three planets in my starter system. Sent the construction/overseer Gek to it but I haven't been back. I don't want to sit at a f'n base.... this is a space exploration sim.

In FO4, don't you have to build shacks to house the beds for the settlers? And make gardens? If only to stop them from complaining? Actually, now that I think about it, I didn't mind working on settlements in FO4. They had a purpose. And defensive turrets. ;)

Hmmm.... defensive turrets would be great for wandering predators... and sentinels...

For that, you'd need the Sentinels to be reworked / set back to how they worked before they changed it for the worse. See Q: Will Sentinels ever be fixed?

Basically, it used to be the case that you could shoot them down before they triggered the alert that keeps calling more and more reinforcements. They removed that timer, and whenever a Sentinel pops up now, your only option is to wait it out, or if too late, run away, hide and then wait it out. You can't fight them anymore. Once you killed it, the reinforcements will arrive in like, 3 seconds, and it's gonna be more than the last wave. And they pop up out of the ground wherever you go.

Then:
Sentinel finds you doing stuff -> triggers alert in a few seconds -> You kill it, preventing alert.
Fighting is an option.

Now:
Sentinel finds you doing stuff -> triggers alert immediately -> You kill it, a bigger wave comes.
Fighting is NOT an option anymore.

I agree Laurie, this is an awesome game and I am having a blast playing it! One thing for sure, it gives me alot more bang for my buck than the $135.00 I invested in Star Citizen. At the very least Hello produces and is responsive to issues.

Jon
I am having fun with new update. Good stuff, wires and all. In a month or so when they get all kinks out it would be even better. I really hope they have roadmap with new community events to keep end players going.

The only major thing that still needs fixing is spending money. When you get all S class stuff have farms and factories you have nothing to spend you billions on. They need to create a reward system to keep endgame players grinding.

My guess is, that some long time players do see the improvements, but at the same time still see the same old and evn some new annoyances / lacks in the gameplay loop they've asked for being changed / implemented differently for a long time now.

As one of the long time players, I enjoy some of the changes. And very much so :)

And yet, there's changes which to my taste (and style of gameplay) are a step back, and then there's those things we kind of literally all have been asking for for years.

I do like the idea of having to power a base, for example. I don't like how freighters, yet again, didn't get any love when it comes to building on them, despite the fact, that freighters pre-NEXT used to be full citizens regarding base building.

I very much like how the game now hints at where to look for fauna to be scanned. Yet, at the same time, the game took away QoL by forcing me to upload each and every discovery manually, and in the case of Way Points it robs me of Nanites by only allowing the last six Way Points discovered to be uploaded.

I still can't stop my Space Ship mid-atmosphere. I'm allways forced into a forward movement, which forcefully crashes the ship into any obstacle (Trade Outpost antennas, e.g.) in front of it when lifting off. Add a few Pulse Drive upgrades to your Ship, and the effect worsens (that's one of the things the community has been asking for to be changed for a long, long time now).

Now, we're kind of 'mid patch-fest' with Beyond. Some things may change, others may stay the same. I think you should try and be a little more forgiving with players like me sometimes sounding what you feel is grumpy :)
It's pretty amazing they managed to create one or two patches every day since release.

So far so good, really liking the updates. I'm hoping for more end-game possibilities like "Faust_3D" mentioned and some combat updates would be nice as well.

They seem to have improved on parts of their toolchain (namely rollout / packaging) -- heck, GoG even got Beyond _before_ it was up on Steam. Alas, still no NMS VR on GoG without SteamVR, since HG understandably chose to rely on SteamVR :(

I'm with you on 'endgame content'. So far, progression in the game still lacks after about two dozen hlours (and I am playing it deliberatly slow). Not just because tech upgrades are still pseudo-randomized based on the order of installation, but also because 'endgame content' still largely consists of simply gathering enough Units and Nanites to simply buy me into 'larger' and 'more', not into 'new capabilities' I would need to 'achieve goal'.

I yet have to try one of my favorite activities from per-NEXT: Risk Portaling to odd locations, trying to make base there. That was taken away in NEXT, and I very much miss that thrill.
I'd like to add to my annoyances. I still see enemies glitch into freighters, despite the fact, that the game now stops me short of passing capital ships in high speed by telling me that I can't, and I need to be dropped out of Pulse Speed.

The 'improvement' I see from that is, that the game no longer fails to correctly collission detect me approaching my own freighter at hight speed, but still happily allows NPC ships to glitch into freighter hulls. Again, I feel like HG traded impproving on a fail for cementing another one :(

Edit: Oh, and being slammed into frigates or freighters upon takeoff seem to be the rule now, not the exception. May I use caps in this forum for the first time ever ?

YOUR LONG TIME PLAYERBASE WILL BUY THE GAME AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND _AGAIN_. Just stop the cheap bit flipping, the boring 'let's again rename things', and abiove all: Consider the least common denomitator of all compaints you get, and EITHER get creative OR FIX IT.

I sure know I will buy NMS again, and gift it. Again. And again. And then, again.
