So, it seems GOG users are fucked again, because there is no GOG logo in the release trailer...
Yeah. We don't know if this is even coming to GOG at all. Given that there's no GOG logo on the trailer and also knowing how they treated us with the NEXT update last time, I'm not holding my breath.

I know! It's awful, what with GoG users having gotten every update so far. So unfair!

Yes, GoG multiplayer was later than the Steam release. AIUI that's because HG bootstrapped multiplayer using the Steam engine. HG did the extra work to specifically add multiplayer to GoG so yeah, I hope they do continue to treat us like they did with the NEXT update.
Well, I would like to be able to play with my friends who have the game on Steam, but I don't think that is going to happen :/
... well, shit. This is, AFAIK, the first time they've left GOG's logo off a trailer. I'm worried. :(

Not true, GOG has been left off starting with NEXT (just about one year ago). See posts on those topics. I know that I made a couple posts mentioning the dropping of GOG and included the same concern in communications with GOG support staff. I believe that some others also noted this and included that in their posts.

Not including GOG continued with many news items related to NEXT and a link to GOG was deleted from the main page of the No Man's Sky website although GOG can now be found if you follow the link for More purchase options.

We are more like the unwanted children abandoned to the Orphanarium although one of graduates of the Cookieville Minimum-Security Orphanarium located in New New York did become a famous space ship captain.

Oh poop. Somehow I missed our fall from equal standing. And to think I shilled this game to so many people... who of course went to buy it on Steam. :(

Well, good work to everyone who made noise about it. I'll be sure to bring up my concerns with Hello Games, too.

On the bright side, if they left off GOG's logo but ended up bringing across the update content, maybe there's hope for Beyond.

Ahahah! *sob*
(Wait... Leela is a famous captain? I mean, a captian, sure, but....)

Is the NMS VULKAN experimental branch available on the GoG beta channel? Why yes, yes it is.
Of course we won't know ANYTHING until it actually gets released, but I read something a week or so ago that the Beyond release is supposed to work across ALL platforms - I'm definitely keeping my fingers, legs and eyes crossed....

But apparently no longer available on Steam (pulled or perhaps [Redacted] is a better word) although I am pretty sure that you have also seen some of those posts and complaints. This is a first.
Yes and just found it on their web site... I really hope they include Beyond here as well as I have my VR setup ready to go!!!

Several posts from Sean Murray earlier today about Beyond. https://twitter.com/NoMansSky

Quick summary is that VR is 30-40% of Beyond, playing with imaginary friends is another 30-40% and the third component really isn't a component but "It's not a single feature, it's a few subtler things that are hard to make a trailer for, but we hope it'll please a bunch of players"

Yep, about right. And it does not help that Hello Games chose to use Steam services for the later updates of NMS (mp etc) as that really left us GOG customers in the lurch. Also i got the distinct impression that GOG and Hello Games had some kind of 'falling out' during that MP fiasco period. So unwanted children we are.

I have not been playing (or modding) NMS for a few years now. I keep seeing the upcoming updates and that just puts me off wanting to make the effort, as i know those updates will either break something (in a mod i'm working on) or add some stuff to the game i'm not so interested in, or simply unbalance a previously fine feature etc. It's been happening every single update.

Still this update was one i planned to get back into the game on, but seeing what it is mostly about, well in truth non of the VR or MP stuff interests me, so at this point it will likely be another update i apply the 'wait and see' approach too.

I'm still waiting for HG to fix many of the best aspects of NMS they lost over the years of updates (like truly different feel to planets in terms of barren/populated etc) and each update i keep my fingers crossed they will have not only added new stuff but revisted the old things that got broken/down-graded etc, and each update i end up waiting for the next one. This is sadly feeling like the same kind of update for me.
New trailer for Beyond: https://www.nomanssky.com/2019/08/no-mans-sky-beyond-trailer/

It shows some visual improvements. Not sure what riding some of the creatures adds but there seems to be a lot of little things such as making space anomalies do more (perhaps replacing the space stations?).
