Have found several of these on different planets. This cannot be interacted with, scanned or manipulated. The red dots are more like the output of sparklers similar to but definitely different than the sparks coming from damaged machinery. I tried blasting away with no effect. The terrain manipulator can dig a hole underneath and the object will sink into the hole.

This does not appear to be an object that has not been fully calculated or spawned and seems to be something programmed into the game, perhaps reserved for future use.

This does not seem to be one of the new nutrient plants as those have the red dots circling or orbiting the plant whereas in this case the red dots are being emitted continuously by the object.

Have not noted this object in other forums but Steam has too many posts to read them all.

Thank You in advance.

I've seen them too ever since I started playing the game with Atlas Rises. They seem to be occassional leftovers from using the Multitool, since I only ever saw them after I used it.

Thanks. I have never seen one prior to Beyond and I am using my day 1 save. Well, actually a week 1 save as I wasted several days just trying to get a feel for the game before playing for real.
Yeah, it's your MT mining laser animation. Sometimes it glitches and gets locked to the spot you hit. I've seen it a handful of times.

Thanks but this has never happened while using the mining laser and at night the "sparkler" effect can be seen a great distance and far out of laser range. We still might be talking about the same thing, just that the trigger might be something else or perhaps it is something that was not fully added as we have seen some features that are present in the programming but not activated such as the exocraft or, more recently, adding technologies but not putting them into the appropriate tree to purchase the blueprints (automatic switch, teleported wiring, etc.).

It's a glitch from the mining laser, not something that wasn't activated. It's the the point of contact animation. Some people have reported seeing it even if they weren't mining. But if you look closely when you're mining something you'll recognize it. Check Here.
