It's been described as a mile wide and an inch deep. I played a lot. Worked my way up to a Python ship, which cost about 130 million decked out with good equipment. Then the paid DLC came out. I heard about upgraded weapons and stuff. But they said you could still play without the DLC. Next thing I know, I am being shot down easily by NPCs. After a few of these I was going to have to sell my Python or lose it and get nothing. At that point I realized the game is nothing but a Grind Fest. The bad part of that is you grind for 500k-1mil at most, many times much less, and lose it at 10-20 million at a time. There were people claiming to make way more than that but i never saw it, and they never posted screen shots when challenged. So after being put in a position of having to grind for a long time to get my Python back, I just quit. The game is fun at the start when you don't have much to lose, but it doesn't scale up very well. You are risking way more when you finally get a good ship, but the jobs, and bounties aren't geared up with that. So you are making next to nothing in comparison, and expected to grind it out. You could just stay in one of the lower class ships and the jobs and bounties would not be so bad. They have Factions and I joined one for a while, until I realized it was just another grind fest dressed up as Factions. Unless you spend way too much time grinding for your Faction, you won't get that much out of it. Again, unless you stay in a lower class ship, then yeah, grinding for the Faction may make some sense. You are not risking 20 million to make 1 million a week. And that's only if you only get shot down once doing it, being in a Faction also puts a huge target on your back. So you have lots of people gunning for you. And for what? The chance to risk losing everything you ground for, for a couple of months. I just got sick of all the grinding for nothing. That being said, I watch a few videos a couple of days ago, and am thinking about reinstalling the game, selling the Python, which I can't afford if it's still there, and playing with a Vulture. A wicked fun ship to play, it's a relatively cheap killing machine. Very fun to bounty hunt in.
