Gives you access to the pills which let you tailor the difficulty and rewards to your liking. It also has various small buffs and unlocking everything will last you many many new game+.

You can disable the minigame in the options and you won't have to do the actual fights.

How do i get the rewards then? Sorry i really haven't tried it except wondering around a bit and playing one battle.

You find the pills in chests and you buy buffs at the trainers.
