I still don't have mine either. But then I only requested my key two days ago. I wasn't positive, but I thought it was taking so long for us to recieve our keys because we're outside of Europe. And this site is indeed hosted in Poland, as my friend stated. I say we just be patient and wait another week before sending another request.

There is no inbox on the account page. It's just taking a while... Or a week.. But we just have to be patient. And if that doesn't work, I'm sure you can do something to pass the time.. Play one of your many other games :P

This is exactly what is going on, yet people claim this game is DRM free... how strange :P

It is completely irrelevant whose system it is. GoG currently possess the ability to prevent me from playing the game *I have purchased* by withholding the key from me. Even if they wouldn't withhold the key, they still can. Games purchased from GoG are supposed to be free of exactly this sort of control! If my internet connection goes down before I get the key, I can't play the game on my LAN.

If this DRM couldn't be removed, GoG shouldn't be selling it as DRM-free. Simple as that.

I paid for the game, downloaded the installer and ran it. There should be no more steps after this for me to fully enjoy the game.

I'm not bashing GoG, they provide an excellent service that I will *continue* to use quite happily. I am merely pointing out that in this case, the game is not free of DRM.

You're right, you shouldn't have to do anything else, but rather than coming here to ineffectually whine about it and point out what you feel is blatantly obvious, maybe you should try to actually DO something about it. If you're not willing to try to change what makes you unhappy, then you are very likely going to be perpetually unhappy.

You seem to have missed the bit where I wrote that I was only pointing it out :) If you hadn't responded with "It's not DRM" (which I believe is a provably false statement), I would have been fine with it "ending" with my first statement on the matter. In fact, the first time I mentioned it, I said "some might regard this as DRM"...

Also, one of the reasons I moved to Linux is precisely because I can change things I don't like :D So yes, I do 'do something' about that which I do not like.

You're right. I'm not neccessarily blaming GOG for anything right now, but they should have seen this coming and made the proper preparations when they added this game to their list.

No, they should just have disabled multiplayer function and stated that they've done so. No more DRM. And no it's not something GOG can fix as they'd have do reprogram both server and client applications to not require CD-keys but that's impossible without source code and hard even with it.

Nobody is denying that, but it helps no one to keep posting the same things ad nauseum in this thread that GOG is most likely not even looking at. They do very much monitor things like Twitter and Facebook, so maybe, just maybe, if people start hitting those with tons of questions we might get some action or at the very least an explanation response from GOG telling us what is going on. Right now I'm looking at their Facebook page and I only see one person asking about keys so it would seem that not many people are interested in doing whatever it takes to get GOG to fix this, assuming people are posting just as (un)enthusiastically to GOG's Twitter.

The worst part is, I wish I could say this is the first time something like this has happened. There are several games on GOG that still require a multiplayer key. At first, it wasn't so bad; requests for keys were fulfilled within a matter of hours, sometimes only minutes, but as GOG has grown and the released titles have gotten bigger, the response time has gotten progressively slower. The release of NWN is probably the worst we have seen yet.

They could have just made the installer use 4 files, the fourth of which is "dynamically" generated to contain the key for NWN which is tied to your GoG account. Then the installer just puts that key wherever it needs to go for the game to work.

Purchase, download, install, play :)

There are solutions that don't require GoG to modify the original that still "removes" the DRM.

cogadh, I wasn't aware there are other games in the same situation. Do you have a list handy that you could share?

Off the top of my head, there are two more I am certain of, Sacred Gold and Two Worlds, but I believe there are others, I just don't own them.
