Thay.
The word is spoken like a curse throughout Faerun.
It is a land of magic, shrouded in mystery. A land of evil, built on the backs and blood of slaves. A land of treachery where one must be wary not only of enemies, but also those considered allies. A land of opportunity for the cunning, bold, or ruthless. A land of death and despair for most others.
Welcome to Thay. May you survive the experience...

The Hak is small.
Thay - Realm of the Red Wizards, is a Persistent World set in the Forgotten Realms. The setting begins in the years prior to the Salamander War, the Time of Troubles, the arrival of the Tuigan Horde and the crusade to stop it, and more than a decade before Szass Tam makes his first bid at ultimate power - all events that greatly affect the realm of Thay.
This PW allows players to join and even become leaders of the military, magical, and political forces of one of the most evil lands of Faerun: Thay.
Everything for this persistent world is managed in-game by simply logging in to the server. While you may certainly post and discuss topics on our guild site here, you are not required to read these external forums or find documents for rules, application guidelines, world background history, etc.
All you need to begin is HoTU and SoU with the latest patch and you can Direct Connect to the Forgotten Realms - Thay server via 65.101.102.74:5121
One of the primary design goals of the Thay PW is to provide new experiences and many options to players every time they decide to adventure in the land of the Red Wizards. To this end, systems have been created that dynamically generate creatures, items, treasure, encounters, traps, quests, and even areas. This provides a world and situations that are always different in some way and presents ever-changing challenges for both new and returning players. Make yourself at home.

Note:
I'm not actually on the staff of this server, but I've been playing on it since it started. I'm posting this here because GOG seems to be one of the most likely sources for new players, and I thought that some of you (particularly people who just bought the game during the holiday sales) might be looking for a place to play.
Additionally, I understand how it can be difficult for some people to jump into a world where everyone is at a much higher level (even if those people try to welcome newcomers). Thay is nearing a complete reset (server wipe, restarting the entire timeline, the works). In fact, the "final event" is next week. After that, we'll have a week (or two) of essentially OOC messing around (free XP, gold, extra special gear hidden around) just for people to explore and/or test things.
Following that, Thay resets at the beginning of our timeline (just prior to the Time of Troubles during the Salamander Wars). If you're looking for a new home (or just another place to play once in a while), why not give it a look?
