Hi there, I started a new mp with a friend and the gf, and I created this character for the kicks. But when I actually got a rapier (because I saw myself as a "D'artagnan musketeer), I found the animation was wrong. Maybe I am the one in the wrong, but correct me if so: isn't a rapier suposed to hit and go through an enemy with it's tip? The animation has my character swinging it like a regular long sword and that was a let down :(. Maybe that's just how it is, but I was kind of expecting a "dance" of some kind, or at least diferent types of movements. Oh well, the game is awesome enough as it is I guess.

Assuming NWN2, can't remember if there was a swashbuckler class in NWN1.

That's the way it is, unhappily enough. Not a huge variety of attack moves and some of them (attacks of opportunity, extra hits from cleave) don't have any animations at all!

A funny thing, NWN1 is a lot better in this regard. Though it's "dance of death" combat divides opinions sharply, with characters moving all over the place while fighting, dodging, blocking. There's even a fan made Alternate Combat Animations Pack with proper fencing moves.

My bad, i didn't specify but I meant NWN 2, yes.
That's too sad to hear, but as I said, oh well. I love this kind of games (infinity engine and forth RPGs) and this one is pretty cool.

It's possible to mod the game to get him to do right, but nobody (as far as I can tell) has ever successfully done it. Rapier animation is very sad indeed.
Indeed, I've found a certain someone is modding several animations, starting from walking to make them "better" than the originals. I'll be waiting for a rapier one :P.
