Lords of Darkness by Fantus is probably my favorite user-created campaign. Interesting henchmen and plot twists that keep you guessing.

Dreamcatcher by Adam Miller (link to first module in the series) is another good campaign that really tests the limits of what the Neverwinter Nights engine is capable of. Optionally play through the prequel Shadowlords to introduce you to the characters first.

I'll second the recommendation for the Aielund Saga. It will keep you busy for a very long time. If like me you're one of those people who has to get through every side quest in the game, you can easily spend 10-15 hours on part 1 alone. It also makes use of a lot of game mechanics that feel a lot more like tabletop D&D - great use of the engine above and beyond what is in the original campaign.

You really should just go through the hall of fame one by one...

A Dance with Rogues is a fantastic module, but is not for the faint hearted and has adult themes. It also has a Discussion group on Bioware social site.

Sands of Fate is designed to take your HoTU finished character onto lvl40 so is a great first community made adventure for you to try.

Yah I remember when the sequel to Hex Coda was (sorta) released. I really enjoyed the first one. I just recently found out he did a bunch of others with NWN. I'll have to check 'em out.

Love "A Dance With Rogues". Great modules, but very, very adult oriented.

I agree that "Dance with Rogues" is a well-scripted and well-crafted module, but since I downloaded it, naively thinking "adult oriented" meant "sex scenes", and it ruined a nice Sunday evening, I'd issue an additional word of warning:

You are forced to watched your main character get raped (yes, videogame raped) in the first scene. As far as I could tell there was nothing the player could do to avoid it. I understand that's some folks' idea of fun, as a fantasy, but I found it quite off-putting.

This is not to make a "normative judgment" as they say in the academic world, just to make sure you know what to expect.

The other modules mentioned are great, espeically the Stefan Gagne stories.

For anyone reading this, the above is true, yet... The scene referred to is not glorified in any way, it is meant to be disturbing and the story allows you many ways to deal with this. 'Worse' is you will be confronted with more situations where men treat you badly. Part of the RP of the module is to deal with these situations in whatever way you feel appropriate: rogue skills, assassination, flirting, etc etc

It is the story of a girl and if you are a guy you need to get into a female mindset to appreciate the concepts. It can be a story of revenge, of love, of friends, of justice, of revolution, of the rogue way, of many things... and you can RP an innocent, a princess, a man-hater, a prostitute, a disturbed girl, someone who recovers... many many roles.

It is an adult module and requires a mature attitude to the story presented so please don't believe that it glorifies sexual abuse or is simply a sex module. Obviously it is not for everyone tho.

I have to second the Eye of the Beholder module. I fired it up last night and was surprised at the level of polish and quality. It simply blows away any official NWN module that I've ever played. Here's a nice introduction of what you'll get out of it. I highly recommend it, especially when played co-op with a couple friends.

On the other hand, I was a more than a little disappointed by the Shadowlords module. The opening couple areas were incredibly bland and unimaginative, and there were typos and grammar problems with a lot of the text. I was like, "seriously? You realize that the opening 5 minutes of a module is where you need to grab your player's attention, and you don't even spell-check it?"

Aside from the cosmetic problems, the story execution was a problem as well. There was absolutely no exposition as to what the crap was going on in the world, other than being given half a dozen fantasy names that mean absolutely nothing to me.

I'm not going to give up on the Shadowlords, Dreamcatcher, and Demon series quite yet though. Hopefully things get a little better, I've heard too many good things about it to not keep going.

The more I read about this mod the more it seems like... Whatever the anti-male counterpart to misogyny would be if such a word existed.

Either that or fetish fuel designed by a guy pretending to be a woman in order to avoid getting called a pervert.

I can't tell which.

On the other hand I thought the wedding dance mod for M&B was just a silly nudity mod, but after trying it I found out it's actually fantastic and adds all sorts of new features that aren't in any other mods including the original game, or even warband.

Can you guys suggest any good modules that are mainly just Hack n' Slash? I'm not much of a roleplayer and love this game for the complex character building rather than the stories.

Preferably something where you start with a higher level character or the leveling is fast.

The more it resembles Diablo 2 the better :)
