So, I was playing the Shadowguard module, and I was loving it. I was loving the original setting (kinda like a proto Dragon Age), I was loving the characters, the roleplaying, everything. I was excited to escape the city, and was so, so disappointed to see the credits. So I checked the wikipedia page for it, and saw that it was supposed to get a sequel, but didn't.
So, I was wondering, has anybody made a fan sequel for it? And if so, are they any good? Ideally something pretty long, but I would like to play around in the setting all the same.
I played this too and loved it. It was a lot of fun and a darn shame they got blocked from making the rest of the series.
I recall looking this up myself, and just checked. No, there is not a fan sequel listed on nwvault.

Aw man. *Dejected fist shaking* Oh well.

I truly am sorry, I know how that is :P

Nwvault.ign.com has pretty much all the modules I know of that are worth having.

That=s a damn shame. This module was very well written and executed. Pacing, story / all AAA quality.
Really bad this wasn´t finished, that saddens me a little.

Frankly, I wasn't very fond of it. It was... okay. Still, I had the feeling that the Empire presented in the game is not as good as it's made out to be, especially after talking to the criminal's soul at the beginning - you just get a feeling that there are two sides to this story and if it was expanded upon, it could be truly interesting.

As it stands, though, I find it rather dull.

Witch's Wake, on the other hand... oh, how I'd wish there was a sequel to this gem!

I hear you.
You are correct and I think authors did wanted to expand on that - there were hints throughout the game that this is just a first layer of a much bigger story - which never was finished.

I just started playing Witch´s Wake - don´t tell me this story is unfinished as well, it starts on an interesting premise :/

Oh, you poor soul. :( It's more than unfinished. Whereas Shadowguard can still be considered a complete adventure in a way, Witch's Wake is basically a prologue. It literally ends in a middle of a conversation.

It's like watching the first episode of a TV series knowing that no other exist. It's still a very good module, mind you, but it takes a masochist side to enjoy it, if you know what I mean. :D

@Taro94

Agreed.

Witch's Wake was more like a Teaser, than a module. The teaser impressed me, and I would have loved to see someone build that module as it had an atypical flavor.

ShadowGuard I enjoyed as a module. You can just make it one adventure in the career of your character and go into another level appropriate module after it ends.

I think I played "Pirates of the Sword Coast" after it. Another premium, that IIRC started on a ship, which makes for a decent transition.
Right, it's definitely worth checking out other premium modules, too, instead of limiting yourself to the Kingmaker set.

Pirates of the Sword Coast is very enjoyable, though there is an episode where you are marooned on an island. That's the part I really hated, but I didn't regret playing through it - the rest of the module is very good and includes some innovations such as underwater areas and others I can't mention if I want to avoid spoilers.

Wyvern Crown of Cormyr has got probably the best atmosphere out of all NWN modules I've played, strengthened by its soundtrack. The story is enjoyable, but not fantastic. It is the only official NWN module or campaign featuring horses, which some hate, but I find them cool. You don't really need them for the most part, too.

Infinite Dungeons is hack'n'slash and almost no role-playing whatsoever, but these few dialogues and item descriptions you'll find are humorous and quite interesting. Its main premise, though, is stated in its name - you can explore randomly generated dungeons. If you're into that kind of gameplay, it's very neat. The good things about Infinite Dungeons is being multiplayer-compatible and suitable for characters of any level. It's a perfect final destination for characters you finish other modules or campaigns with, but want to keep playing with said characters. The huge downside is that the loot found is incredibly overpowered, but I've created a mod that tackles this issue, if you'd be interested.

Darkness over Daggerford was meant to be a premium module, but was released for free as an unofficial one. Still, its quality matches, if not surpasses, the best official premium modules. It has got a very baldur-ish feel (and even makes some references to Baldur's Gate a few times), so it's definitely a treat for any BG fan. I've also found a reference to Pirates of the Sword Coast, not sure about any other modules or campaigns, though.

Story-wise, you don't need to have played anything before these modules, but here's what I've noted while playing them:
-Pirates of the Sword Coast takes place soon after the events of the original campaign
-Darkness over Daggerford takes place some time after Pirates of the Sword Coast
-Infinite Dungeons takes place after Hordes of the Underdark - as little story as there is to ID, the events from HotU influence Infinite Dungeons quite significantly
Sure, try all the Premium mods.

It was just that PotSC is level appropriate as a sequel to Shadowguard, and Shadowguard ends on a ship, Pirates starts on a ship.

They are both Premiums.

This is as close to a sequel as you will get.

Ah, alright. I get what you're saying, but ShadowGuard is set in a different setting than Forgotten Realms. I guess you could pretend that the city ShadowGuard took place in is somewhere in Forgotten Realms, though.

Yup, just finished it - and the ending was WTF.
Just when you realized you´ve being fooled. I knew I shouldn´t trust her.

Okay, now onto the Hordes of the Underdark, and then I can call NWN1 as played through :)

Have you played the other premium modules I mentioned here? :) They are also official content, made by or for BioWare, so you might want to check them out as well.

Also, the best modules are fan-made ones, that's what Neverwinter Nights is truly for. I can recommend you a few if you'd like, but that's up to you.
