hi, when I pick a high resolution the entire screen shifts as you can see in the picture, its not a big problem, but it is slightly annoying, is there any way to place it at the centre? in game its full screen but also kinda shifted

This is not normal behavior. NWN supports up to 2560x1600.

You need to provide more info.

Single? or Multiple Monitors?
Eyefinity/Surround gaming mode on?
Screen size/resolution?
Virtual Desktop mode of some kind (your screenshot is 3222x1540 ??)
Video Card?
Any kind of Scaling on in Windows/GPU drivers?

wait, there is something wrong with the picture, the white part shouldn't be there, the resolution is proper 1920x1080, the problem is that its shifted, like you can see in the actual picture the menu is in the lower left corner and not centered, when I start the game the issue persists, the entire screen is used, but its shifted

Can you take a screenshot while you are in the game? I believe people may understand the problem better that way.

Yes, which may be a hint that some of the other issues I mentioned should be checked.

Did you check them?

single monitor, no special modes turned on, resolution is 1920x1080, not using any kind of virtual desktop stuff, GPU is nvidia 970M, can you specify what you mean by scaling in gpu drivers?

also, an odd thing is that when I take a screenshot with fraps as opposed to just printscreen, its displayed properly, as in its not shifted, while actually in game it is

Disable Windows Scaling: it in your nwmain,exe compatibility tab.
Only change what red arrow points to:
