I'm a level 12 ranger with natural bond, and I have still never seen my wolf attempt a knockdown OR actually knock anyone down. When I look at his character card, he does not have knockdown listed as a feat

I've also re-rolled a druid and selected a wolf (as wolves receive Knockdown at level 1 according to the wiki) and again, I do not see knockdown listed as its feat

Does anyone have advice for a fix, or an explanation of what is happening?
Are you playing a mod? May have changed some of the mechanics.

The other thing is that the wiki might be wrong, I've got no idea about that. You got your info from the wiki right?
I'm not using any mods (though I do have the Deekin's and Construct's fix codes in my override folder (though it doesn't make a difference if I remove them or not))

I definitely pulled the info from the nwn2 wiki though... seems hard to believe that the whole community would let this slide though

are there any players who have picked a wolf for an animal companion that could shed some light on this matter?
My Druid has a wolf and she does knock things down a lot but I'm thinking that a Ranger pet is perhaps a lower level?

This is just what I was looking for! There's always a chance that I'm not noticing it, or that I have mistaken it for Khelgar's actions. Would you mind examining your pet and checking the listed feats, to see if knockdown is listed there?

I used natural bond to bump my wolf up, and he is currently a Level 11 Beast (the wiki says he should have knockdown right out of the gate)

I guess that's my main question if you TL;DR ---> Is knockdown a listed feat when examining your wolf? I started a druid too, and my druid's wolf (Beast Level 8) does not have knockdown either listed in its feats, so I'm beginning to wonder if it is a bug.......

No my wolf does not have knockdown listed but I sent him in against some sailors and sure enough...

see the screenshot.

p.s.
Have you got a tick in "ability use" for your wolf?

I have his behaviour set properly. Looking through the combat dialogue, I don't see my wolf attempting knockdown on any newly targeted enemies. He just goes straight to a basic attack roll.

Oh well, sort of a bummer... but not the end of the world I guess

Edit* Oh, and thank-you for taking the time to look into this for me btw :)

I just tried on a group of lizardmen by heavily buffing my companion, and still nothing - just attack rolls. Is there a size difference at play with lizardmen? I'm at the start of Act 3, and they're really all I can fight without progressing through story dialogue, but I tested earlier with orcs and still nothing :(

If you're willing to post your behaviour settings, I'd mimic them for sure! I'm wondering if my current test is invalid because of a size difference
1. Lizardmen are medium targets the same as Dwarf or Human.
2. Tactics, a knockdown normally happens when the target is fighting | focused on someone else i.e. my Druid or Khelgar… I have seen it happen when the wolf is fighting alone but only as his first attack.
3. There are two other settings;
a) The wolf needs a tick in "Defend Master".
b) The Knockdown Global needs to be set to on… this is on your PC and not the wolf.
(see screenshot but note that these are the default settings anyway)

Brilliant!

I had knockdown set to 'sometimes' - he still barely ever does it, but I confirmed saw it happen once now :P
