Graanii: @Hickory, I understand your concern about downloading random files from a random source, but I assure you and everyone else, this is not a virus. I'm not just a totally random guy popping out of nowhere, I'm Grani from BioWare Social Network and I am quite active there.
Never heard of you; it means squat. Even if I 'had' heard of you, saying you are 'XYZ' from BSN does not mean you are a reliable source for random (yes, random) executable files. You could be known over there, and still be a crook -- not saying you are, just that you 'could' be -- and people should ALWAYS be wary of what they download... ALWAYS.
<sighs>

Chances of me being a crook are lowered dramatically if you can verify that I'm a community member engaged in what's going on with the game and its community.

I never expected you to have heard of me. I never claimed to be popular in any circles, what I did mean to say, however, is that you can easily check if I'm involved in discussions and community efforts, not to mention I have my own contributions, small as they might be, to the game.

So, given that I've been an active member of BSN for years now, uploaded some of my own contributions and actively participated in forum discussions (and all of the above can be easily verified), what chances are higher - that I'm a crook? Or maybe that I'm actually trying to help other community members?
I could be a crook, sure. But so could anyone. You'd virtually have to avoid every link on the web. You can have your doubts and think that perhaps I was a member of the community for several years JUST so I could infect a random person's computer with a virus, but I'm just trying to help here.

Anyone who wants this generator can grab it now, that's all I wanted to achieve.

But you're a person who refuses to admit that they were wrong when they realized that, indeed, you can't play any premium module offline without the relevant ".DAT" file in one's "premium" folder. Instead, you prefer to tell a blatant LIE on public forums and spread misinformation.
And you claim that it's me who can't be trusted? The irony is strong in this one.

Sensitive, eh? I have no need to prove myself, unlike, it seems, you do. I know I can play the game off-line. I know I don't have .dat files. Feel free to keep banging your head, I won't mind.

windwakr: If you don't have a '.dat' file for the module and you don't have an internet connection, you'll just get this screen forever:

^^ This.

I just installed my retail Platinum Edition of NWN, then installed the Pirates of the Sword Coast premium module, switched off my internet connection, and tried to play PotSC offline. It didn't work; I just got an endless waiting screen. Switching on the internet connection helped. As did the great offline tool Graanii posted. Tried it and it works like a charm! Thank you very much!

Don't know what's wrong with Hickory. Either he has some magic computer or some hacked version of the game or the modules ...

So I must be a pirate if I can play offline, is that it? I'm a thief who doesn't pay for games. is that if? Go fuck yourself, and take a look at the attached while you're at it. I've never used a pirated game in my entire life, and neither would I, jerk.

I'm glad the generator worked. :)
I'm also glad that you wrote about it, because this way others who might have had their doubts about it might be more eager to try it themselves.
Cheers!

Hi, I am cjcrl in searching of an offline dat file generator for NWN premium modules. Haplessly there is no access to MEGA.NZ here in China.
So, would you be kind enough to E-Mail me the exe you uploaded to mega.nz in association with the original python script?
My e-mail is cjrcl@msn.com. Wish your letter. And great thanks in advance.
Hi cjrcl.
I'll happily send you the DAT generator to the e-mail provided. :) Just give me a few hours to get home.

I'm sorry for resurrecting this thread again, but I was wondering if you still had the .dat generator floating around and if you would be so kind as to send it to me (or better yet, upload it and provide a link so everyone can access it).

I already tried using the older python script for generating the .dat files, but it appears nwmaster.bioware.com is totally offline now. You can't even ping the server, and since the python script relies on a connection to the master server, it's useless now.

I'm not interested in trying system shock 2 either.
Someone could re-upload "DAT file generator"? Link is dead.
I had finished "Pirates of the Sword Coast" and I want play without problems with another premium modules.
I could use that file too. Is Taro still around?

To everyone in this thread, yeah, I'm around and kicking.
It's saddening to see that the master server has now been shut down completely, but on the other hand, I sure am glad that I wrote this application at a time when I could easily retrieve the keys from the server.

I'll give you the link in a moment, though it might get broken after a while, too (though it's weird, I thought the links on MEGA.nz are permanent), so I suggest everyone to download it ASAP, make a back-up copy and perhaps upload it themselves and post mirrors in this thread. Just to make sure the generator won't get lost.

I'd like to upload it somewhere safe... on Neverwinter Vault, to be exact, but I need to consult the admins about this matter, as I am not sure this generator is legal and I would not want to get the Vault into trouble for providing illegal files.

htt ps :// mega.nz/#!D58FQbBI!yf-bQSEgyCCyo_NQ5Q8Gwj3stHDOUbN_PzEUZsjoHT0

As before, remove the spaces from the link.
Just wanted to say 'thank you' for this. +1
Thank you!

I wish GOG just sold these, or added them to the package, or something.

I bought mine back then, but I wouldn't mind paying another $5 or so for the package, if that meant they'd be activated & ready to download at any time.
