I bought the EE (basic) and tried to install the old Darkness over Daggerford module, and it won't install saying some registry stuff is missing. Does it mean I can't install old modules over the EE?

I saw after buying that there is the Deluxe Edition that includes other premium modules, but even if had seen it before buying the basic edition, I don't think I would have felt like spending 10€ more for something that once was released for free, and I expected the old modules to work anyway. Any solution fo this? Thanks

Open the installer like an archive, in WinRAR or in 7z. Take out the files from there and put them manually into the correct directory, as per your NWN:EE installation (by default the custom content folder resides in My Documents/Neverinter Nights, but this can be changed).

It's likely that the EE does not put anything (or puts a different entry) into the system registry, so the installer doesn't recognize NWN as installed. The module itself, however, will work fine in the EE.

Thanks, I could have it run. Movies won't play, though. Could anybody tell me how the EE version of Darkness over Daggerford is different from the original one, and if it's worth to get the deluxe edition instead of the basic one? Thanks

I guess that's a matter of perspective - you could also say: I had a ton of fun with the module, and the authors never got properly recompensated for all the time and work they invested; now is the time to give something back to them (because in this case, the money would still go to the original developers, even if Beamdog would probably get a share of it, too). But I get it, for some weird reason it's harder to feel good about paying retroactively for something we've already consumed and enjoyed for free, even if we're ready to acknowledge that it would have been worth that price if we had paid it beforehand ...

I can undertsand that, but the original is still available on nwvault for download. Unless they can retroactively change the fact that the old version is a freebye, once they release an updated version that costs money, it should offer something that's worth the money they're asking. Just like anybody else, I'd say.

Yes, the movie format used by NWN had to be changed because of licencing issues.
If you convert the movie into the WBM format, everything should function correctly.

Thanks, I had found that discussion and could convert them with ffmpeg, they're working fine now.

that was a lot of changes. The portraits and the voice sets and the spoken dialogue is reason enough to give them a few dollars. That was probably my favorite module, I'll enjoy playing it again.
