I bought a copy direct and one from GoG just to try to do my part to keep some life in a game that I am fond of.

Compared to "movie night" the EE version of Neverwinter Nights is the bargain of the century
I bought mine GOG copy, when it was on sale, so only an Arby samdwich and small soda for me. :)

Which was only 10$ before that and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition is 20$ at the moment. We certainly have a different view on "bargain of the century".

That is the most ridiculous piece of rationalizing that I have read in quite a while.

Make the honest comparison. EE to Diamond edition.

$10 vs $20.

Is EE worth double the price? Nope, not unless Diamond wouldn't work for you for some reason, otherwise it is essentially the exact same game.

Diamond worked for me. I have around 10 copies. Now I have a couple of EE to go with it.
It's no money at all. Who cares?
The ten computers and LAN stuff cost a lot more than the copies of the game.
Look, if you like the game it is a good place to spend some money. It's your money so you can buy whatever you want with it. You don't HAVE to buy EE. I don't smoke or drink or do drugs so I have a bit of disposable income and I really like NWN even though I almost never have time to play.
I guess what set me to posting here (oops, won't happen again) was seeing so many people so upset over $50. Life's short, if you spent the time playing the game rather than groaning about the cost you may be happier.
Maybe not, your mileage may vary
either way, play the game. That is what it is for!

The new Arby's Deep fried turkey sandwich is pretty tasty by the way. That with a warm double chocolate cookie would be worth eating whilst slaying vampires in Dark's Eye of the Beholder! (Eleventh level of the dungeon maybe?)

It's such a huge bargain that Beamdog could make all the profit it deserves with the money it would save by buying up copies of it's own game!

So should I stick to the Diamond edition that I already own or should I pick up NWN:EE at this point in time? I am glad for the Vault backups that are on the one site just wish we would see updates/new content at this point in time.

If Diamond Edition is working fine for you, then you are unlikely to notice any real difference.

So stick with Diamond then got it. Its been working fine along with NWN2 for Windows 10 for me personally. Only have a 1080p screen so I don't run into the high res issues others with a 4k screen do. Intro videos play fine as well. So yeah looks like I will be sticking with Diamond which is fine as it gives me acces to a shit ton of content compared to NWN:EE Since most older content will likely not be updated for EE

Leroux: It seems the first two chapters of Sanctum of the Archmage are now available as EE only version as well (pay attention to what file you download, the site also still offers the file for the Diamond Edition).

And I hear the Aielund Saga was updated to EE, too, but I wasn't able to locate it yet outside of the Steam Workshop. Apparently there is no way on NW Vault yet to search for EE specific content. :/
