Does Weapon Finesse apply to the Sword of Gith?

Jonesy89: Does Weapon Finesse apply to the Sword of Gith?
Apparently not. :(

According to NWN2's version of a light weapon...

"Light weapons can be used with Weapon Finesse. However, Weapon Finesse uses the list of light weapons for medium creatures for all creatures."

...which rules the medium-size silver sword out unless a customization was scripted to allow it. I would have thought that a universal sword could be finessed since it "...has no restrictions based on race, class, alignment or size." For that matter, a large or huge creature should be able to finesse any medium weapon (like a rapier, for example), but once again, the default finesse-able weapon list still seems to apply.

Ah well, it was worth a shot. Thankfully, I found a file for MotB that lets my Duelist treat it like a rapier, so it is now compatible with Finesse. Doesn't look like there is anything comparable for the OC, though.

To be entirely honest, the Silver Sword isn't actually that great a weapon, with shocking low damage output for how late in the game it appears. I wouldn't consider using it on a dedicated melee specialist as a result. It's better off in the hands of a spellcaster, who can make use of its various special abilities without caring about its sub-par damage.

The sword is improved dramatically in Mask of the Betrayer, but once again it suffers from "appears too late in the campaign" syndrome, so you should have better by the time you get it. At least the second time around they don't take away a bunch of really cool passive bonuses when you get it >_<
