I try to play NWN2 with a friend over LAN.

I used the CD-Key tool
checked that the .ini files has the 3 CD-Keys required - and formatted correctly - in it as well

Launched local server

------> but can't connect the local server as I get the message:

Your CD-Key is not authorized (see attached screenshot).

I tought that the problem was solved looking at the locked pinned topic. Can someone help please?

Did you also verify that you and your friend are using completely different keys?

Did you change the keys from the default? You should be getting the keys from your account, not using the defaults if you want to play multiplayer.
Thanks @PeterScott for your answer.

I am right now trying to connect alone to my local server on the same machine (nwn2server.exe).
I changed the default keys (default was empty nwcdkey.ini file) through the key changer in GOG using my own keys found on the GOG website.
I double-checked that my keys are actually changed into the nwncdkey.ini.
I tried with and without hyphens.
I can see the server, but can't connect.
I tried to connect through local network IP address and through web with the same result: NWN2 says : CD-Key is not authorized.

Still no luck.

Sorted!

Problem was the CD-key changer changes the key in the game folder only.

There is another key file which has to be changed manually:
%userprofile%\documents\Neverwinter Nights 2

There you have to manually change the nwcdkey.ini with the ones you find on your GOG account (gog.com/account)

Hope that helps.

I cant locate where my CD keys are in my GOG account, any chance you can screen shot or something to show me where to look? I swear I have been over the GOG account 50 times and cannot locate any key changer or key information.

There's a screenshot, but you have to use your browser, not through Galaxy.

I'm trying to connect to multiplayer via the client extension program. I cannot connect to online because my CD keys are "invalid" I do have the "nwncdkey.ini" file updated with the CD keys I have been given with my purchase, but the error in my attachment still persists. PLEASE HELP!

I also have tried using the CD Key changer, but it does not seem to work.

UPDATED: So I found out I was missing ONE letter in the first CD key, that's why the cdkey changer wouldn't work on me. BUT now that I've changed it (and saved it), I still cannot connect to the multiplayer browser thing.

I also am having trouble playing online. I changed the cd keys using the serial changer (for C:GOG/Games..) as well for (C: Documents..) But I still get the "Your CD keys is not valid" message. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
