Before I fully jump on board, I need to know if I will be able to run one or both games on Win 10, I know I could do compatibility mode and I have to do so for NWN1 but I am wondering if I'll be able to play either game on Windows 10.

Yes, NWN does run on Win10, in compatibility mode. Understand that NWN was made before microsoft adopted the principles of 'permissions' and as such NWN has NO SUPPORT FOR THIS AT ALL, thus you MUST run in compatibility mode if you run NWN in Windows Vista, Win7, Windows8 and Win10.

NWN2 I don't use so I cannot help you there.

Okay, thanks though if NWN2 does work in 8.1; it should hopefully work in Win10 but luckily compatibility mode exists.

My friend already upgraded to Windows 10 and wanted to show me the game. We couldn't play the game because there was an error message saying d3dx9_30.dll was missing.

and search for

DirectX 9.0c SDK

install that (you can have more than one Direct X on a windows system) and you should be OK to run. Always be sure to install and run NWN in Admin mode if you are running any windows Vista or more recent... and run in XP mode.

I'm not sure. Microsoft don't mention Windows 10 in their compatibility list, DirectX 9.0c executable.

Found out that NWN2 is compatible with Windows 10, and it runs pretty smoothly; the resolution options are back as well.

How do you get it to run smoothly? I am suffering serious framerate issues

I have also noticed if run in compatability mode then Galaxy launcher will not launch the game

I have the same experience on windows 10 on Surface pro at very low detail: character flickering :(

I am attempting to run nvn diamond edition on windows ten in compatibility mode for XP and still get the same message each and every time i attempt to run the game, Some one help please? I was so excited to play this game again.
