Hi all - I'm loving NWN2 all over again, but in playing this version from GOG I've noticed that many NPCs and mobs are encountered as "barely injured" or "injured" when first encountered. I can't find any references to this issue anywhere else, so I hereby throw myself upon the mercy of the GOG court: What is going on here?

This is actually a stock problem of the game, going back all the way to its first release. The current HP of some mobs and NPCs are not set to the maximum, so they show up as injured. Maybe the Devs changed the max HP, but forgot to change the current HP (or the other way around, the effect is the same).
Gaunathor's explanation is right. There are two slots for an NPC if you look at them in the toolset -- Max HP and Current HP, and for some reason for certain NPCs those numbers aren't the same.
