To be honest, folks, you're not missing a lot. Infinite Dungeons is more of a (very) clever tech demo and not all that fun to play. It was an attempt to turn the NWN engine into a randomized Diablo-like game, complete with all of the cliches of the clicky-clicky RPG: random dungeons, loads of phat lootz, and a negligable story.

The problem is that D&D 3e is not Diablo and the action-RPG tropes just don't work well in D&D 3e or the NWN engine. I bought it, played it a while, and wondered why so much time and effort was spent trying to cram a square peg into a round hole. (Shrug) YMMV

I searched high and low for this but missed the train as most did. You may not be able to buy this anymore, but the guy who worked on it had posted previous versions before this was made into a premium module. The latest one I was able to find was called Elidrin's Random Dungeon Generator Version 9 (RDG9). It can still be found in the vault.

This is not currently set up for a single player in mind. You will die trying (at least I did) , but it's great for 3 or 4 people!

Incidentally, the first thing I did when I got NWN via GOG was replace the CD keys so I could play Infinite Dungeons (which I bought ages ago). :P

True, pure hack&slash with d20 rules can be a bit boring, but the module is still addictive as hell IMO. Especially when playing a Rogue and setting up the dungeon accordingly...

I purchased Infinite Dungeons and I can tell you that it really isn't that good. It has a problem with being a little TOO random in my opinion. Levels have no rhyme or reason with monsters, loot, traps, etc.

If you want a better random dungeon experience, I would recommend downloading a script and designing your own setting.

I actually used this awesome script several years ago in my own module and had a blast (trying to find the one I used from NWVault). I was able to replicate a little starting town like Tristram from Diablo with a big 20 level dungeon with random monsters, traps and loot. It was pretty epic. Unfortunately, I lost the files for this mod when my old hard drive died.

Edit: Couldn't find the old script I used, but I found this one and it looks like a really awesome one. Just import into your own module and play with the settings.

Atari is currently going through a lawsuit and the rights to this and all the other premium modules are in question (or something similar to this, I'm not sure of any of the facts so don't quote me or anything), other than ones included on a disk version of NWN, meaning kingmaker. Extremely lame considering the old Bioware site would let me download them, and they recently launched a site where this was impossible. I don't have backups of the installers so I'm boned out of 10 bucks... I think they should all be released DRM-less for free by Atari after the lawsuit is over...

If you go to the Bioware social site, they have links to the installers in the NWN 1 forum. They work if you bought them and still have the CD keys you used.

Infinite dungeons didn't do it for me either... too much randomly generated content, not enough actual content.

Sucks, I still have backups of the ones I downloaded. I bought the original games/expansions when they came out, bought the Diamond Edition later on but I bought the older modules that weren't included with Diamond Edition with my old CD Key, so if I want to play them still I have to hang on to my old copy. I may just say screw it, get rid of both copies of the game, pick up the GOG version and wait/hope they include the other modules eventually DRM-free.

Atari blocked the sale of this when Bioware set it up. They wanted to be able to distribute it as they did the original game. If GOG can get Atari to to act like dogs in the manger maybe.
