Hi all, thanks in advance for any answers.

I already own Neverwinter Nights 2, along with Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir. I bought them new at retail back at release. I missed picking up Mysteries of Westgate when it was available via Atari however.

GOG seems to be the only place to purchase MoW these days, and it only comes in the NVN2 Complete pack. However, for $9.99, I'm happy to buy that bundle just to get MoW.

I've never purchased anything on GOG before however, and I'm curious about how the install files will be. If I purchase this NVN2 Complete package, will it be just a single install file that requires me to install everything all at once? Or, will it contain the separate installers for each expansion, and as such I can just backup the MoW installer and install that alone with my already installed retail copies of NVN2, MotB, and SoZ?

I hope I worded that well. Thanks for any information!

The NWN2 package is a 6.9 GB combined install (split into 6 files), so no separate MoW.
But you can move the MoW content into your original installation, and uninstall the new installation if you want. And also keep a copy of the separate MoW files somewhere for easier installation later, since they don't actually need any special installer, and can be installed like any module.
Btw don't forget that after the GOG Summer Sale ends today/tomorrow, it'll cost again 20$.
Thank you all for the replies.

I was lucky and caught the extra sale on the last day just now for $7.99. Good price for MoW!

Touched, I'm not very familiar with custom installing or moving the NVN modules. My experience with the modules was for NVN1, and I only ever bought the 6 Bioware Premium Modules (which has self installers) and Ossian's Darkness Over Daggerford module (which also had a self installer). Once I install all of this, what would I need to copy/backup in order to have a separate backup for MoW that I could use later?

Thanks!

Assuming you want a ;separate' backup for archive reason so you can install it when you install the NWN2 series again, I'd advise just keeping the entire GOG install files. For one thing, it would be easier than installing from the original discs, since the GOG version is patched to the latest.

That said, for MoW, I believe you need to save the following folders from your installation (someone please correct any errors I make):

Adventure Packs
hak
Movies
Music

From your My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2 folder:

Campaigns
modules
music
westgate (configuration file that contains the Westgate key)

Some corrections (don't need ALL contents of those folders for MoW only).

From the game install folder:
\AdventurePacks\Mysteries of Westgate\ (complete folder)
\hak\westgate.HAK
\hak\westgate2.HAK
\movies\Westgate_Intro.bik
\movies\Westgate_Credits.bik
\music\mus_wg_*.bmu * == anything beginning mus_wg_
westgate.tlk
westgate.key
westgate.ini

From Documents (Neverwinter Nights 2) folder:
\campaigns\Westgate_Campaign\ (complete folder)
\modules\Westgate_AR1500.mod
\modules\Westgate_AR1600.mod
\modules\Westgate_AR1700.mod
\modules\Westgate_AR1800.mod
\music\mus_wg_*.bmu * == anything beginning mus_wg_
Thanks all, I will try that. It might just be easier to use this GOG version now though, instead of my original disc copies. Either way, at least I can finally play MoW!

Hi dear NWN fans, I'm also interested in buying the bundle on GOG for MOW module but I just couldn't understand a part in this topic. I have NWN 2 series as all in retail, and I also have MOW as it's own installation file (.exe). I have found it in internet.

When I install them in the right order, everything works except MOW. It asks a CD key, which I don't have. So, If I buy this bundle in GOG, will I have a CD key to validate my standalone MOW?

MoW is not available for separate download legally, so whatever copy you have 'found' on the internet must still have the Atari DRM included -- GOG version doesn't have DRM -- so you're out of luck there.

Hickory:
However, to extend on that, if you want to buy MOW you'll be able to do so here, since the GOG package does include it and is the only place you can buy it (unless other digital sites have already acquired the rights to re-sell the GOG package). However like Hickory said, it comes without DRM, so it doesn't ask for a serial key and it comes a part of the whole package in one single installation file: it's impossible to install it separately or as a standalone, you'll have to install the whole GOG package with the base game and all expansions including MOW (which can be easily solved by moving the MOW files into your retail installation folders as advised in the posts above, or you can move your saves to the GOG version and delete the old one).
