As I play on either a Desktop or a Laptop and have a Lima drive to store network data, am I able to move the Saves folder to that Lima drive so that I can play the game on either machine without having to copy & paste my data every time ?

Thanks in advance for any help :-)

Please state which NWN game you are playing. NWN1 or NWN2. Because NWN1 keeps save files under installation directory and NWN2 keeps them in MY documents.

I googled Lima drive. It looks neat to have your own cloud server. Unfortunately I dont know a way to make the save path custom for either games.

For NWN2, you can experiment with the nwn2.ini file where it says

SAVES=.\saves

by typing the full path.

It's NWN 1 Engerek, and yes I saw that in an INI file and wondered exactly that ... I'll let you know how I get on ...
Yes, it works !!

I moved the Saves folder to my L: drive & amended the .ini file to say SAVES=L:\Games\NeverwinterNights\NWN\saves ... I reloaded the game and Loaded as normal ... great stuff :-)
Excellent. I am glad it worked for you.
Of course the .ini method is to be preferred... for games that are not having such an entry - ntfs symbolic links (assuming windows) are a good alternative (Wikipedia: NTFS Symbolic Links) - I am using 'em all the time where the save files are ending up somewhere on my C: Drive (usually (User)/AppData/Local or /Roaming) and I don't want to lose 'em if I play back an older partition image for the OS...
