My GoogleFu has failed me here.

Running Windows 7 64 bit, installer as Administrator with a path to C:\GOG Games\. Install goes fine but when I start the game for the first time I get prompted with this error:

"LoadLibrary failed with error 998: Invalid access to memory location."

I've tried a variety of Compatibility modes with no success. Anyone have any suggestions?
Try updating your graphics drivers, especially if you have ATI Catalyst.

Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, issue is still present. Card is a Radeon Mobility 5850.

Did you install the latest drivers?
Ok, I've had the same problem and managed to solve it. The answer is 1.5 years too late, but maybe it will be useful to someone in the future.

NWN started making problems for when I updated my drivers (ATI Radeon HD 5800). I've copied a solution from a different game, downloaded a dll file and placed it in NWN directory (where .exe is located) and started the game perfectly.

I can't post link but apparently I needed an older version of atioglxx.dll.
