I have 15 effective persuasion and have tried about 100 times to persuade him at this point and have failed every time. Even if the DC were obnoxious surely I would have rolled a nat 20 at this point.

Is he impossible to persuade?


I have not seen a guide which describes him as having a persuade option for the first stage of his quests, so maybe... Will just ignore it and move on but curious.

What exactly is the persuade option you're referring to?

Yeah, that persuasion isn't possible, he's just a jerk. There's some persuade checks in that conversation which you can succeed on but also several that will never work. Just because you talk doesn't mean he will listen! I have not -- often NPCs are immune to their own AoE to prevent this issue (so an NPC sorcerer can drop a fireball on his head without hurting himself). Kind of hilarious, though.

Of course, that defensive spike wall has never lived very long when I did the fight, so that's probably why I've never seen it...

Is there any way to kill this mofo without slaughtering the entire fort ? I've found that note telling me that soldiers are complaing because whoever wants to run will be hanged for deserting. Something like that. I kind of think that there should be an option to talk to those knights and set up another commander or something like that and kill that dickhead. Either way I am going to kill him even if that means slaughtering an entire fort :D

And it is possible to persuade him for 1000 gold if you choose that option first. But I do not think it is possible to persuade 500 gold. Or maybe it is possible but you need to have realy high persuade skill. Mine is on 20.

Besides going invisible? Not that I know of, unfortunately. The OC is considered the weakest campaign for a reason. And all of the official campaigns are worse than the best custom campaigns.
