I ran into two problems with this game. The first is that the game crash every time I tried to skip the into yet it is fine if I do not skip the into. I heard I can edit it so it can go into main menu but I rather keep the intro yet make sure I can skip it without crashing.

My second problem is that the buttons on the main menu does not respond. I have to log off my windows user in order to quit the game. The only two options I can think of to fix it is to run it on xp compatibility mode "Which does not fix the into skipping issues but did not test the unresponsive main menu." or get the game to run in window mode. But I wounder if anybody else would know what I should do.

I use a windows 7 on a nvidia graphics card if that would help... Also, I use a tv monitor which has cause some issues on getting games to display.

I think I mite have solve the unresponsive menu. I would have to change my user account control settings to the lowest in order to get the game to respond to keyboard and mouse commands.

While this means that I can play neverwinter nights again. I kind of wish that I do not have to make such changes so if anybody else has figure out how to get the game to respond to keyboard and mouse controls without having to change my user account control settings then I would love to hear it.

Also, the intro skipping problem has not been fixed.
I have the exact same problem if I run the game via Galaxy. It runs fine without it.

Set compatibility to xp service pack 3 and check the following options:

Disable visual themes
Disable desktop composition
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
Administrator Privileges

That should stabilize the game so it's doesn't freeze. To fix the stuttering sound and video you have to go into the advanced sound options and check RAD Game Tools RSX 3D Audio.

I never had a problem with stuttering sound and video so that is not going to help. I may need more clarification on what you mean by freezing. The music plays, I can move the mouse just fine just the buttons in game does not seem to be responding to mouse and keyboard commands. I can get the "do you want to exit the game" message if I press the windows key and then try to close the game outside of the game. Does that mean the reason why it was not responding to such commands was because the game froze?

Everything you stated sounds like what I had to deal with initially when I installed it to win7 64. I suggest you give my fix a try, and if that doesn't work then you will probably need to contact support to help you.
I am not going to try your suggestion on fixing the stuttering sound and video since I never had that problem. Just the game crashing when I try to skip the into.

As for the game freezing problem is something I will try.... Would it help if I tell you the game is neverwinter nights diamond? Since gog decided to combine both nwn diamond and nwn 2 forms into one.
Hay, it worked... Ish... It can revert back to screen freezing if I leave the main menu through the windows key and it has freeze one time after I tried to get back into the game after I left but not log off. It is also a bit lagging at times but nothing beyond intolerable.

I have also tried your suggestion on the sound thing and it did not work at all. But I did find out that the intro crashing is just that. A problem with the intro cut scene and nothing else.

Well, it was worth a shot. That is what I did to fix it for myself. I have no issues with the game at all after implementing the fixes I suggested to you. You might want to contact support and see if they can further help you since it sounds like you are having different issues entirely that don't seem to be fixed by toggling buttons in the compatibility tab.
I may have to. But you did help fix the major issue with it in that the game would be unplayable had I not make those changes so I thank you for that.
