I have the NWN Diamond installed. How do I install another module? I want to install the module that takes place after SoU and before HotU (Can’t remember the name off the top of my head).
Step 1: Download the file.
Step 2: Decompress it if it's compressed.
Step 3: Move all .mod files to your /modules/ directory
Step 4a: Create a directory called hak in your NWN main directory if it isn't there already
Step 4b: Move any .hak files to your /hak/ directory

That should do it for you.
Go to New Game
Single Player
Other Modules

And it should be in the list.
If it comes with a .tlk file it would go into the /tlk/ directory
And music goes to.. music directory and so on. Pretty simple and the mods usually come with a readme spelling this out.
I created a Neverwinter Nights module and want to email it to a friend. Can anyone tell me (step-by-step) how to do that?

No, We can not give you step by step because we have no idea what E-mail service/software yu are using.

When writting an eMail there should be an option to attatch a file to the eMail. You will have to locate the .mod file for the module. It should be in the modules folder in your NWN install.
I guess it is not the attaching to email part I need help with--I can do that. It is how to get all the pieces of the module necessary into one place so I can attach it. the .mod file is tiny, and does not contain all the scripts, etc, that have been written. Do you know where I can find a how-to about getting all the necessary pieces into once place? There seem to be a ton of files.

Ok, I Guess I do not understand.

I am assuming that your friend has NWN installed on there computer and it is up dated to the same version as yours.

If you built the module and placed things into it that are not part of the .mod file you should know where they are since you would have had to attach them to the module.

any Haks that where attached to the module would be in the hak folder. If you made any or attached them.

any custom talk file wile be in the .tlk folder if you made a custom one.

anything else that is not in the .mod file your friend should already have with his install of nwn if it is up to date.
I Tried instilling a module, but there wasn't a module or hak directory -hell, I'm not even sure neverwinter nights directory, just a folder under "GoG.com downloads" that contained the setup program, not any of the game-related files. and when I tried to decompress/extract the modules I did download, i got a single mpeg file instead of the 'hak' and ''mod' files you guys are talking about

All the pollutants in the atmosphere must be having a retrograde effect on people.

Sounds like you are trying to put it in the wrong folder. Where did you install the game to?

If you do not know where you installed the game. Go to the shortcut that you are starting the game from. Right click on it. Select properties. In the properties window that opens, Click on the Find Target button. The folder you installed the game in should open up.

And it sounds like you didn't dowload a module but just it's intro movie or something. There's usually a bunch of files to download.

If you say which module, we can give more specific advice.
Okay that I found the directory and it turns out that all the modules-even the ones that came with the game-are mpegs. and they work. weird.
Anyhow , thanks for the help.

They're not mpegs, but some software (VLC, for example) will read them as such.
Yep, don't rely on icons to tell you what file type you're actually dealing with. Best to set windows explorer to show extensions even for known file types, that way it's always easy to see what you're actually dealing with even if some program wants to indicate it as something else.
