Ah, I had missed those comments. Yeah, that's a lot different from just criticizing a game.

That's a good attitude to have. I'll just add you probably shouldn't try Temple of Elemental Evil next. Because compared to that NWN is downright easy casual. NWN2 on the other hand might be more to your liking, with controllable capable companions and no "dance of death". It has it's own problems obviously.

Likewise. Still, I also agree with Darvin with regards to the rest of your comments insofar as they actually criticize the game. Personally, I never had crashes, but the screen had this nasty habit of flickering every few minutes; not quite as deadly as the stuff that actually made me ragequit, but still.
Sadly, I have to agree with the assessment of the game's problems; despite the game being set in the Forgotten Realms, which indulges in many of my pet peeves with fantasy, the character moments and developing relationships between the party and some of the various NPCs were interesting, but I still wound up quitting after a few hours. I could have gotten into the actual game as opposed to the idea of NWN 2 more if it weren't for the AI (even with puppet mode on, the AI still commits more than a few gaffes), the camera (seriously, what were they thinking?) and the gameplay design. In an RPG, having the party do nothing but go to a location and kill stuff over and over again is tired; when reading about the second act and how most of the quests involved doing something other than carving through hordes of orcs, I wanted desperately to play that game, but the idea of slogging through the uninspired "go here and kill the things" nature of act 1 made me decide to keep reading the LP instead. Think I might give ToEE a shot; it might not have much of a plot, but I can dig a good turn-based action game.

As far as criticizing the game goes, no apology necessary. Everyone is free to like or hate the game as it strikes them.

You forgot the camera issues.

I thought NWN1's camera was just fine. Only NWN2's camera is a horrid piece of trash.

I used the save feature to get past this fight. Level 6 cleric 6 rogue. I had to make it from one platform to the next after heurodis had only bigby hand spell. I would move out and get her to start casting, run back to alcove. From there I have 4 seconds before she gets a spell and I get close. From there I would attack and hit 2 times. Save the game, then load. From here she would fizzle her spell from loading the game. I did this 20 times until she eventually passed out. Then the mage was dead but the game still counted her alive and my character ran away from fear. I loaded another 10 times. Then she fell and I won.

I've said it once and I will say it again, whenever you have the option to save the game in combat, you are never going to have the same fight scene twice.

Bad games, bad history, even nwn1 has many errors with the D&D 3ed rules but... the Multiplayer--- the multiplayer... oh lalala! A Masterpiece! Basically, you was buying a RPG Maker based on D&D for playing your own adventures and with friends (Except NWN2 due Atari screw the concept and focus more on the OC)...

I'm very sure I spend close to 1,000 hours on both games playing on my favorites Persistents worlds (I even learn to play D&D with NWN due I didn't had other people on my town)

On multiplayer, the game is other world and other measurement, with the DM client version and good tools set could be very good.

I still didnt get to see the movies of Chapter 1 and 2 and Interlude. The game has dialog but I need to fix the cinematics. Hopefully I will eventually find a way to make movie pictures appear.

Can someone explain the camera issues with NWN1? I get the complaints with the camera for NWN2, but I found in NWN1 it was excellent.

I'm guessing you play with the camera zoomed all of the way out, then, tactical style? If you play with the camera close-in, it's impossible NOT to miss the infuriatingly terrible camera issue. Not just views blocked either, but not being able to click on a place to move because of the stupid thing. It's far from excellent... quite the opposite.

Ah, thank you. Yes, that's exactly the way I used the camera (zoomed all the way out). I love tactical view and don't like to zoom in at all in any game that has the option.

That's to say nothing of the vertical camera control if you do play with it zoomed out; the keyboard can be used to easily zoom in and out and move the camera horizontally, but the only way I ever found to move the camera horizontally was to use the mouse, which invariably resulted in the camera spazzing out as opposed to giving me a better view. I would eventually be able to wrangle it to where I wanted it, but it took far of my patience than it should have.

The camera moves vertically with the PgUp and PgDn keys and horizontally with the sideways arrow keys - not sure what the problem is there. I too play zoomed out as a rule, only zooming in if I want to click on something small near my henchman. But even zoomed out you still can get your view blocked in tight spaces, unless you go totally vertical.
