Hey all,

As above, I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to get the dialog options a little larger. I'm playing on a big screen from my couch but can hardly make out the text when parlaying with NPC's.

Is there a mod? How should I install it? - Thanks!

It'll depend on how large of a screen and the resolution, but you may only get minimal benefits from the following:

1 - Under Video Options, Advanced, enable your High Resolution Font option.

2 - Here's a link to a slightly larger and easier to read font override I've used in the past. http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/large-dialog-text-font-2

Rather obvious one, but you could try just lowering the resolution.
I don't think you lose much, the graphics are not that detailed anyway.

It'll depend on both the resolution setting and the actual screen size as to how well this works. On many monitors or TVs over roughly 27", the result is blurred text, even though its much larger. Upping the resolution helps focus things again, but then your dialogue windows shrink and the text is smaller again.

I actually play in 800 x 600 resolution because I don't like how it shrinks the UI otherwise. 1680 x 1050 monitor.
I was kind of assuming it's full HD now, and dropping to 720p (which I usually do when playing on telly) should do the trick. Even 480p if the view distance is long.

Hmm.. Well I'll be playing from about 11 feet away on a 100" screen. Do you think it's worth a try?

Lol, that's one humongous screen you got.
Depends on how you see and value stuff, I played a lot of PS3 on about similar distance, 80" picture from projector,
and I definitely noticed jaggies and would have loved PS3 to be able to antialiase Red Dead Redemption.
Still rather that than my 40" tv.

I'd give it a go, 720p even gives more room to go full splash on antialiasing and graphics settings.
Easy enough to test.

Does making the game 720p on a Full HD display (with full anti-aliasing) makes the game pixelated?

I certainly can't detect the pixels, looking at a 24" screen 60 cm away.
You mostly lose precision, the tiny details.

At the same distance, non-anti-aliased, the jagged edges of objects are clearly visible.
Even at my native 1920x1200 resolution, the edges look worse than 720p anti-aliased.
(but the details, especially on distant objects are more visible, so it's a trade-off)

Generally speaking, I prefer lower anti-aliased resolution to a higher without anti-aliasing,
if my decrepit old computer can't handle anti-aliasing at full res.
There's a tool that lets you add your own font and change its size: http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/tool/nwn-font-maker
Hi,

Just started my first NWN:EE playthrough. :)

Use this NWN font file I generated in FontForge. Put it in the "override" folder.
- I cannot post links at this moment. I will if my rep grows or something.

This is a monospaced font (Courier New) enlarged 40%. Works great with 1.5x UI Scale and "Reborn UI" mod.

This topic was from the old days of NWN:Diamond that does NOT have UI scaling.

NWN:EE UI scaling solves this issue by itself, and now includes proportionally scaled fonts.

If you read both of our posts, you will definitely come to the conclusion that I will disagree.
Even if you unlock the multiplier and set it above 1.5, you will have the problem of maintaining the proportion between the interface and the font - the UI becoming too large for the appropriate sized dialogue font.

And I completely disagree with you. You are trying to solve a problem that no longer exists.

Scaling lets you pick the factor you need to make it readable. If you try to put in bigger fonts than standard, you will end up with bugs cutting off text in some situations.

So the best option is using Scaling with the standard fonts.
