I am at the Mimic chapter. I think this is a really good game, really solid, great soundtrack and atmosphere. However....

Back in the dungeons, but the pattern has now become really boring and predictable: next location, new puzzle, solve the puzzle, kill some monsters, next location, new puzzle, etc

Does the game carries on in this fashion for long? 'Cause if it does I'll give it up and play NWN2, the latter's camera is terrible, though
If you're at the section with the Mimic there isn't much left to the campaign so you might as well finish it up. Also, the NWN2 camera can be made to behave decently, but you have to play with the settings quite a bit.

well, to me it's not important to finish up a game, but how well it keeps up. I value my time. So the question remains: does it continue in the fashion as mentioned before?

I did play with the NWN2 camera quite a bit, I never found a simple setting as in NWN1 where it did not require continuous adjustment.
In that case the pattern you mentioned repeats about three more times then it's on to the final showdown.
Yeah, a bunch of puzzle levels... but I don't remember if it was actually the showdown right after. Don't think so.

Anyway, it gets good again.
