I'm getting real tired of her BS; I've beaten the core campaign once and never used her because I couldn't stand her arrogance. Does she ever mellow out, or is she stuck like that?

Pretty much; she's one of the characters whose subplot was cut due to budget and time constraints later in development, so she never develops beyond being a spoiled brat who is drunk on power.
She's a supercilious sorceress -- aren't all sorceresses like that? Magic comes naturally for her and her ilk. She doesn't have to work at it like 'lowly' wizards. She's also a dropout whose "large green eyes are often rolling in frustration as rarely a moment goes by when something doesn’t annoy or outright anger her." It's who she is. Deal with it.

No, I won't deal with it. Since I'm on my second playthrough, I'm going to ensure Sand stays with me at the end so I can kill her. I'd kill her sooner if the game let me, and the only reason why I wouldn't is if they had managed to finish her side-story where she matures a bit.

Also, you apparently have a strangely narrow-minded opinion towards sorceresses. It's kind of weird reading your post.

Thanks. I'd heard about cut content but wasn't sure if that was part of it.

Well, you can bitch and moan, and be as bad, if not worse, than the problem you're bitching about, or you can deal with it and move on. Your choice.

Not narrow minded at all, when you consider how sorcerers and sorceresses are portrayed in fiction and other games. I know who I think is the narrow minded one here.

What books do you read / video games do you play where sorcerers/esses are regularly portrayed as jackasses? Because I'm finding it difficult to understand how you got that impression.

Clearly not well read. How about, for starters, Morgan le Fay, Circe, Voldemort, Sauron, Vigo the Carpathian, Randall Flagg. Not to mention Yennefer of Vengerberg and Philippa Eilhart. There's many, many more, but you'll just have to take my word for it... or look them up.

Morgan le Fay, Circe, Voldemort, Sauron, Randall Flag, and Yennefer I recognized right off the bat. However, my experience with the "sorcerer/ess" type has leaned more heavily towards folks like Polgara the Sorceress, Gabrielle Belisarius, Inquisitor Ligeia, Professor Mcgonagall, Honor Harrington (she's a bit of a stretch, but between her gene mods and her over-the-series development of psychic powers, I stuck her in there), Skeeve and Aahz, Skandranon and Darkwind and Elspeth, and a bunch of others that I'll leave unmentioned for now.

Also, you started your involvement in this thread by being a bit of a jerk, and you've been slowly-but-consistently scaling up to full jackassery. I haven't been very polite myself, but I'm beginning to wonder if you have some obscure personal grudge that you haven't bothered to mention.

EDIT; Forgot to mention Gandalf-as close to a direct opposite of Sauron in the same series as we get.

No I didn't. You took a perfectly innocent suggestion and choked on it. Your problem, not mine.
and you've been slowly-but-consistently scaling up to full jackassery.
No, I've been replying to your "jackassery", nothing more, just like now.
I haven't been very polite myself,
Quite the understatement.
but I'm beginning to wonder if you have some obscure personal grudge that you haven't bothered to mention.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I have a personal grudge against you, because I know you very well and you've wronged me terribly in the past. /Sarcasm

Get over yourself.
The topic turned into "Does Hickory ever stop being a..." . Actually, Hickory is a perfect example of a Sorcerer type he is explaining. His knowledge is vast and he helps people but that doesnt stop him from annoying others. He helped me alot in both Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights topics. However I see that not many people are pleased with the way he reacts to people. Well, every rose has a torn.

I can almost imagine Hickory dressed like Gandalf with his voice.

Hickory this, Hickory that. It's interesting how the people doing the most complaining, bickering, bullshitting are the supposed 'victims'. I help; I'm always here to help, yet I've had slurs cast my way without ever responding in kind, and by some bizarre misguided logic I am seen as... whatever. Sobeit. Some people are simply too sensitive. Not my problem.

I'm re-quoting this in order to drive a point home, Hickory. I'm going to copy-paste and bold the worst part. I'll also repeat it a few times for redundancy. I'm even going to attach a screenshot in case you decide to edit it later.

It's who she is. Deal with it.

Deal with it.

Deal with it.

Deal with it.

Your entire first response is worthless; it doesn't answer my initial question, nor does it help me or resolve a problem in any way. Its only purpose is to stroke your ego boner by telling everyone who reads it what a sophisticated guy/girl you are. Furthermore, that "deal with it" is straight jackassery-it's completely superfluous, and obviously condescending. At the time, I had not provoked/insulted/spoken/interacted with you in any way whatsoever. The fact that you felt the need to add it anyways says a lot about your character, and I wish I hadn't wasted all those words being vaguely considerate of you in the first place.

For comparison, Darvin, the guy I marked as the solution, answered the question and left. He didn't quote random fluff from the game, he was completely matter-of-fact about it, and he limited his choice of words to those that were directly relevant to my question.

You, Hickory, are substantially worse than Qara; all of her blind pride and no redeeming qualities to make it worth anyone's time to speak with you. Feel free to rage-post a response at your leisure, but don't expect me to piss away any more seconds of my life acknowledging your presence.

Says the only person in this thread to rage post. Your little spat only highlights your insecurity even more, genius.
I finished OC yesterday and today I remembered this topic. Actually I liked Qara's personality and since she is an amazing sorceress I think she deserves all the arrogance she has since her attacks are the most powerful of all. She can singlehandedly kill 10 monsters while the rest of the party is still trying to kill 2. Qara and Neeshka were my favorites that I used in every fight.
