I'm having trouble launching the DM Client. In order to play the Player mode, I had to change my nwmain to nwstart, so it works fine now, but the only way that i can see to get to the option to launch the dmclient is to load up the launcher. The launcher goes to the black screen with the purple eye for about 30 seconds then dissapears whenever i try to launch the single player or DM client through the launcher, and it wasnt able to update. I changed nwstart back to nwmain and was able to download the patch, but still could not access the single player or DM client through the launcher. I've changed nwmain back to nwstart to play single player and that works fine, just need to be able to launch DM client. Is there another way to launch it other then the launcher or am i missing something?

Make a separate shortcut for the DM client and edit it's properties to include the command -dmc as a suffix. So you would edit it to be something like:

"C:\Games\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition\nwmain.exe" -dmc

ok which file is the dm client exactly? i couldnt find something to only start it up, only the launcher with it on the list. I just tried copying the file that launches my singleplayer but with -dmc at the end with no luck. What am I missing? TY for help btw, so much.

There is no separate file. The DM client is a special mode of the normal player client, hence the command line option.

ok, so I am just renaming the file that launches my single player (i have it named nwstart, originally nwmain) from nwstart to nwmain.exe -dmc . Thats it? or am i doing something more in the properties then renaming the file? I have tried just renaming it to what you said with at the end but the player client just launches. I did some digging and most people said just change a copied nwmain to nwmain -dmc like you said, but its just launching the single player for me.

Copy / paste your shortcut here. Don't type it.

No, I didn't mean place the files here, I meant copy / paste your shortcut properties, like the example I gave here. It is no good you just saying "nwn -dmc is what I have".

C:\GOG Games\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition\nwstart.exe for single player

Games\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition\nwn -dmc.exe for dmc

it would seem i am having trouble getting -dmc behind .exe

That's where the problem is. Copy this, including the quote marks, and paste it into your shortcut 'target' properties:

"C:\GOG Games\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition\nwn.exe" -dmc

You need to right click on your shortcut and select 'Properties'. See attached image.

"C:\GOG Games\Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition\nwn.exe" -dmc is target in the shortcut file

Excellent. Have fun.
Extremely helpful, thanks very much. Easiest way to do it quickly is just edit the existing installed shortcut properties to add -dmc at the end (after the quotes), as it seems people are using different filenames for the launch.
